Bama can take 28 signees this year.

They currently have 28 commitments. If all of their commitments sign, they'll be full.

They're still actively pursuing at least 5-6 other prospects, 4 of which, at least, are DL (including Ish).

Out of their 4 unsigned prospects, 2 of them are Byron Young and Christian Williams.

Byron Young is Bama's 4th SDE/DT (non-NT) currently committed to them. Same is true for Christian Williams at CB...they have multiple S's committed, too, if Williams projects more there.

The purpose of this thread is to point out that, with today's Bama commits at the AAG, LSU's chances to land Ish, Young and Williams may have just increased.

Saban gonna process some fools or convince some 4 stars to grey shirt. I've seen this numbers crunch before.

Landing Ish and Young would put this class over the top.

Keilan Robinson will go somewhere else I suspect

Henry To’oto’o is Alabama

So that still puts them at 28

Talk of making two of their more well off commits to take a grey shirt or just walk on.

I don’t understand why they signed 2 QBs. I think it’s to late to get one to grayshirt.

These days, given the transfer trend, you should be signing 2 QBs per class.

Yep. That little midget will oversign, then process folks and convince others to grayshirt just to keep them from other schools.

Some Bammers say they can take 29 or 30 and their math actually checks out.

This! If people are underestimating Saban and those 4 uncommitted recruits they’re chasing you’re crazy. I guarantee those DL are still in play for Ala. even with the full class.

I don't know how the grey shirt rule works but it is not possible for a recruited player to be a walk on. That is against NCAA rules but then we are talking about bama here.

DLine needs to be prioritized. I’ve said all along Bama wasn’t getting both Sopsher and Young. Coaches need to prioritize Young as well as Sopsher. Getting both probably asking too much, but can’t miss on both.

Also, we can’t buy a damn edge rusher and Bama ends up with 2 of the best in Bogle and Harris.

didn't the ncaa put a 28 player limit on signees in any one class, even if you could have back counted more, a couple years ago?

I totally agree!!

2019 CLASS
Alabama
#5 OT - 20 overall
#6 OT - 35
#8 OT - 52
#3 SDE - 28
#5 SDE - 75
#6 SDE - 88
#14 SDE - 190
#3 WDE - 57
#5 WDE - 113
#9 WDE - 160

LSU
#2 OG - 32 overall
#13 OG - 199
#16 OT - 154
#36 OT - 444
#11 DT - 159

This is just this class if you go back in past years you’ll just see more of the same!! Do these kids pay attention to the depth chart!! It’s crazy there’s only so many good Olineman and Dlinan in every class and when you lock up 4 or 5 or the top ones every year of course at least one of those will pan out and be a great player but it also keeps them from there rivals like us it’s just ridiculous and almost unfair!!!

I don't believe in coincidence. How can this many kids/families make the same seemingly poor decision? There's no way this many players can get to the NFL as soon as nearly all prospects claim they want to get to the NFL.

Actually have 3 adding King Mwikuta which may be the best of the 3. He also has the frame to grow into a DE like Allen did.

A recruited player can walk on. It's called a grey shirt. They walkon the 1st year but can't play, though they can practice. It's used yearly. Some kids just defer enrollment until the next Jan so they aren't paying the 1st year out if pocket.

Blueshirts can't be recruited.

I don't understand why these kids and these parents allow themselves to continusly to get played by Saban. If I saw these numbers and I was a parent. I would tell saban to eat my arse!
