Look, I've seen a ton of decommitments, but if it's...

not followed up with a commitment elsewhere quite soon, it's not so damaging.

In other words, if they don't go on a commit to another school, they often end up back with the good guys...

It’s been less than 24 hours

Kids usually give time for the air to clear before committing to a new school. They don’t often say “I’m decommitting from lsu and committing to ATM” in one social media post.

He’s also at ATM this weekend. He may wait, but this is a dumb take.

It’s not a “dumb” take. It has merit as does your first few lines. Stop being a Dick. The OP has a good point as do you regarding it’s been less than 24 hours. If he commits in the next week or so then it’s probably a done deal. If he gives it time then our chances go up that he finds his way back to us.

Orgeron will fix this. He’s the greatest coach ever.

Orgeron is an elite recruiter. He is ahead of all this.
You need to calm down with the name calling.

We need to adapt the Clemson rule. Have to stay committed. If you back out, you lose your spot

Yeah I agree. Because then our egos could stay all shiny and we wouldn’t have to worry about these losers who de-commit like Stingley and Roy. Hmmm… maybe we could retroactively kick them off the team.

The name calling is appropriate for you. All you do is trash O in every thread. It's beyond stale.

Decommits and transfer portals will be the norm, get used to it.

Is the minority opinion that he decommited just to have "open" officials?

We've seen this many times when a kid decommits just to take his visits and then returns afterwards. Guice comes to mind.

To me this, sorta, has that feel. If not, it's a helluva 180 turn from just a couple weeks ago (which of course does happen also).

One read might be "Let the bidding war begin". As a Tiger Fan, I don't like it but it's the smart thing to; especially if you come from modest means. What's he got to lose?

How does a kid commit to a school, and then actively start recruiting for that school and then decommit.
I read that he had input from his parents, and I read that as 'hey son, this new school has made our family a very lucrative offer for you to attend. Please consider the family's income situation before you make a final decision. Consider decommiting from LSU and let's see how this offer thing plays out"
Just a hunch, but these days, I suspect this conversation happens more than we might realize.
Money and greed has just about ruined everything in this country.

O's new best friend needs to be the TAF, if they aren't already. A program is required to identify funding, establish a budget and develop guidelines. I suspect they are there already but we will have to wait for the results.

I would be all for that. For those that dont agree look at the recruiting classes that Mac Brown had with the no decommit rule or lose your place

If a coach can pull a scholarship from a recruit to try to land another recruit, then I've got no problem when committed recruits decommit.
