In several respects. Kelly did a better job hiring staff than many expected. The staff has so far lost far fewer guys to the portal than initially expected, with only 2 big impact guys leaving. We did better pulling guys from the portal to address needs, too.
I’m not going to say that today’s close was huge, but the staff was able to get back in it with three guys we were completely out of the picture for and close one. Today could have been nothing but backup plans or just passing on recruits to hit the portal even harder. I look forward to what they can do with a full season and a better NIL plan next year.
The Lewis loss sucks, but that pales in comparison to all of the positives to this point.

Stop worrying about all of the aTm 5*. They are the best in the country at turn 5 star potential into 3 star performance.

Heard Saban about 30 mins later on PF radio talking about 'he hope NIL $$$ did not impact HS recruits choosing schools'. NIL $$$ for COLLEGE players, he is all about, but not impacting where a HS player chooses to play.... This is going to go back and forth btwn TAM and ALL others in the SEC for a while.
Lane Kiffin's luxury tax tweet about TAM earlier today was also funny as heck.

The op has me confused. Is this counting the transfers?
Because if it is, then half those 3 stars are the transfers. So you are getting players with a bit of experience that are more accurately rated.
Not all of those five stars at tamu will live up to it. Just the way things work.
