Former Notre Dame RB Logan Diggs commits to LSU

quote:

Former Notre Dame running back Logan Diggs announced his transfer portal commitment to LSU Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot, 215 pounder will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Diggs on why he chose LSU

“When I walked in those doors, it felt like home. They welcomed my mom and I with open arms. When I spent time with the staff there was never discomfort. I felt like I knew everyone for years. Coach Frank has a great history of developing running backs and getting them draft ready and after talking with him and going around and seeing all the historic monuments and seeing the greats before me, made me realize how much I want to accomplish and how much I haven’t already. I was hungry for more and Lsu, coach Frank, coach Kelly, Sherman Wilson, and the rest of the supporting staff not only told me why I belonged home but they showed me. Every question and concern was answered, and I knew if I truly wanted to be great, there’s only one place to do it.”

Absolutely. Let's see if the Emery rumors are true about him possibly being done. Wonder if anyone has heard about Armoni's health?

I hope that Diggs, being a ND player, has a short learning curve in this offense

Great signing. He may not be the marquee back we haven’t had in awhile but he’s capable. And yes, we need another capable RB on this roster.

Definitely needed and with uncertainty of Emery and injury concerns with Williams and Goodwin you need depth
That prevents you from having to rely on the fr right away, give them time to develop especially with Kaleb Jackson not arriving till summer and he hasn't even played competitively in a year due to injury

What are the rumors exactly?

I completely get if Emery doesn't want to play school anymore and is going to try to play in the XFL or USFL or whatever other minor league is out there but I would be completely baffled if the kid just stopped playing football all together. He has never been able to put it all together at LSU but you can see that he has the athletic ability combined with the size that few people possess. I hope the best for the young man.

You think so? I think Goodwin is the starter if healthy. Diggs is still a huge addition, though. We need someone to be a reliable starter at RB this season.

What makes you say that? Goodwin wouldn't even be the starter without Diggs joining

He really hasn't shown anything since he got here and is consistently injured

I feel very good about Diggs and Williams as a one/two punch, and hopefully one of the freshman will develop.
