BAMA pushing hard for Steen. It's looking like they've had a few misses in their offensive line recruiting recently. They offered him 2 different nil deals that him and his dad still haven't accepted. I have a little bit of a source on this one. Steen wants to start and his camp doesn't believe that that will happen at bama. Its just hard to turn down Saban when he wants you. LSU has a real shot here. I honestly think it's his and his dad's 1st choice. They absolutely love Brad Davis. Penn State and Virginia are fading fast. Man, I worry about that last bama visit though.

Thanks for this info. If he has already turned down 2 nil deals at bama that bodes well for lsu.

The other day you talked about lsu going after another qb.

Can you say who it is?

I have no idea and neither did the person telling me. Only it's someone that Denbrock (maybe) recruited while at Cincy. I'm pretty skeptical that's still happening especially if they want to keep both MB and Nuss. He told me Denbrock really, really likes Nuss. He just needs a lot of polish.

Also this was 2am after the LSU game in Houston. We were both shite faced. This dude definitely gets good info though.

Exactly, that was a great summary to start this thread. CBK and staff are making the hard pitch and he would certainly start day 1 at LSU.....but he can also do so at that other school, which has a more talented 2022 roster.
true, and both send them to the NFL pretty equally with Saban having more first rounders, but Kelly has 2 in the NFL that are more than likely HOFs. Those two guys combine for 11 pro bowls and 8 All Pros. Kelly has to be going hard on this. Hell, they actually have 3 OL since 2014 that have been All Pros.

I really don't give a crap about Bama's OL, because all their first round and 2nd round OL picks are almost always the sky high 5 star rated guys. All their guys drafted in the top 2 rounds at OL over the last 5 drafts have been in the top 35 players overall in their high school class. Two of them were the #4 player in the country and another was a top 20 5 star. Evan Neal, the guy everybody is gushing over as being maybe the #1 player drafted in 2022 was the 7th overall player in his high school class. Bama crams so many 5 star guys against each other which makes them look better than they are. They don't have one pro bowl offensive lineman from the same past 5 drafts I just mentioned (they do have one from the 2016 season, but that's it).

We, LSU, also have a 5x pro bowler in Trai Turner

hope so man

he may also want to play LT and we already have Frazier committed while BAMA has a spot open for LT. that my count against us

So Steen plays LT and Frazier RT. It's not a hard concept.

Maybe they decide not to visit Bama though and commit to LSU? Daniels was 'rumored' to be looking at FSU, Mizzu, LSU and a couple others, but chose LSU faster than a heartbeat.

Development - This is where Mawae would be a great asset in recruiting for LSU. Hope they realize that one day.

I think you and the OP are the closest on this. I hope they just shut it down after the visit but it’s very likely that they want to at least hear what Bama has to say. I like our chances much better with experienced players that know the recruiting long game rather than a HS player who sees nothing but stars and the short game.

I’m hoping that this staff can start to turn the Bama narrative around on them for a change. Start to convince these HS recruits that Bama just uses those guys and will say whatever to get them in their class. LSU is one of, if not the only school in the SEC that can start to level the playing field with them. I’m hoping this happens quicker than expected!

Step 1....Nick is getting old and old fast

Step 2....The luster is beginning to fade

Step 3....Carve a new path as doing so will serve you better in adulthood

Any chance NOA influences Steen? If chance for postseason ban I could see that as enough to push him to bama.

You're concerned that a postseason ban in basketball would have an effect on Steen's decision to play at football at LSU?

No. Football since it was included in noa. I know we already self imposed in 2020 but that was a bogus offering where folks cared less about bowls after the Covid season.

We're talking about a smart and disciplined dude here.
Family history makes me think your "Step 3" would be important to him.

Signing Jayden Daniels leads me to believe that an opportunity to compete for a starting spot is all that is being promised. Outside of NIL.

Decision coming this week. Just fresh off his visit to Alabama. His younger brother plays at Virginia. He played high school with two current Bama players. You've mentioned the family ties with LSU and the area.

Alabama
LSU
Kentucky
Penn State
Virginia

On3 Tyler Steen
