But coming out of high school? You can only assume he'll get bigger. I bet he'll end up at RB.

Hyperbole, but yes there are conceivably 6 guys on the roster at bama next year that were 4* tailback or better out of high school. Does that matter though? The consensus is that Leonard is a once in a decade type back, yes? Guys like that don't get buried on the depth chart, they play from the very beginning.

Running back is a position where talent can't hide. If you're one of the best runners that Saban has, then you're going to get to run the ball.

Fournette reminds me a lot of Yeldon as far as talent with the ball in his hands goes. As good as Henry looked in the spring I think fournette is probably more talented than him, so he could conceivably step right in and play the same role Yeldon played as a freshman while Yeldon plays the role lacy played a year ago.

There's something to be said for the appeal of being THE guy that is the workhorse features back for 3 years, but I think other guys find it just as appealing to share the load with another guy equally as talented. The offense doesnt take a step back when youre getting a breather and your legs are fresher at the end of your college career. The bottom line is that a current roster doesn't matter to guys as talented as Leonard.

Can't wait till his recruiting days are over. Not one player can win a national championship. I have my doubts about him coming here anyways. Obviously he did not grow up a Tiger fan.

Really? An 18 year old that's been the man since 8th grade wants to share the load?

As far talent playing. I'm sure he'd get carries where ever he signs. But I thought it was fairly clear that Richardson was the more talented back, however, Ingram got the most carries, even in 2010 when he was injured starting the season. And why is that? Because Ingram was also very talented and had been in the system a year longer. And he was only 1 guy. In the fall of 2014, Yeldon will clearly be the #1 guy and then you have Henry, Tenpenny, Jones et al. It's also interesting that despite sharing the load and none of MI, TR and EL getting 200+ carries 2, let alone 3 years in a row, all three were banged up going into the NFL. I'm won't say there is no way LF goes to Bama, though I'm more worried about USC, however, LSU has recruited him about as well as you can recruit someone. If he doesn't go to LSU, he just doesn't want to go there.

The game has a changed a lot. Kids nowadays realize that NFL teams count carries no different than a pitch count in baseball. I can't speak for Leonard fournette, I'm just saying there are two sides to that coin. Some kids want to play with other talented players at their position, it makes a lot of sense to go that route if you sit down and think about it subjectively.

Too bad LF has said he wants to start from day one and be the feature back who gets the bulk of the carries. And I don't think that'll happen at Bama. I think he already has his mind made up about where he intends to go. Probably decided a while back. Now he's just enjoying the process.

I can't wait for the reverse Eddie Lacy vs LSU's stable of backs debate with LF and Bama's stable of backs.

All due respect, but I seriously doubt that LSU will use LF the way that USCe used Lattimore. He'll have backups to pick up the load if he gets tired. I don't think that he'll be over used here. I've never in CLM's tenure seen a back getting 30-40 carries a game. It isn't gonna happen.

That has pretty much been our approach for years, with Ridley maybe being the only exception.

I would just like to add that I think by not taking a RB last year, LSU was more trying to sell to Fournette that "we believe in your abilities enough that you would fill the void," rather than "sign with us and get early playing time, b/c we dont have much of a choice."

On the other hand, Bama has continued to take RBs in every class, with the recruiting tactic of "we don't need you, but you are certainly talented enough to get in the mix, and eventually take over."

Saban offered 200 out of the ESPN 300 rankings. Leaving 100 not offered, however several of those guys not offered by Alabama were not offered by anyone but 1 or 2 schools and 1 of them was accepted which could mean the player was not going to even consider going anywhere else.

Saban can definitely feel it slipping away, especially now that we have Cam at the helm of our offense.

If Alabama had to play LSU's schedule this year, they would get whipped. Not to mention Satan , I mean Saban is trying to make another pact with the himself to have Johnny football on the bench when they play. Saban has been crying since Cam came on board.
