The possibility (however unlikely) that Herron may not be a definite take is a testament to how strong our D-lineman recruiting powers are. D-line U only accepts the best!

That said, you don't say no to a guy like Herron (IMO).

I for one really hope we get this guy. Is UT the most likely choice for him here though?

He's been to Starkville 5 or 6 times and really likes our DC Chris Wilson.

Probably. He also has firm offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.

Beckwith has made it clear that he does not want to play on the line.

Yea...Chavis and Haley could be trying to convince him otherwise...or tell him he may play DE or LB...or he may be in the class as a LB which is why we are slowplaying Jones and Claiborne.

With us losing so many D-lineman, these kids should be jumping at an offer from us right now. I really hope we can get this guy because that would be crazy

Do you recruiting gurus like our chances with Herron?

If he was being truthful last week about us being #1 then I like our chances. Don't see how MSU could make up the ground in a 2 week span with the limitations on contact considering we have the same amount of allowable contact as they do and a far better depth situation. I guess it depends on how the staff feels.

Agree about the DL situation at LSU being very inviting to prospects. The catch is that we have so many spots open that it can be a negative to some of the kids. Some kids just flat out don't want to be in a class with so many other guys at their position. We want the guys willing to fight for those spots. The way we rotate should help us.

We got Chief recruiting Herron. Would Neal and Gilmore be a package deal?

I hope Haley is recruiting all of the defensive guys hard. Laremy Tunsil told Chad Simmons of Scout that Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and LSU are the five schools he is focusing on now. He then said Coach Brick is the one who is recruiting him and mentioned he hasn't heard from him "in a minute." The article outright says LSU is the school that is "showing the least amount of attention at this time."

Unless the staff feels they don't have a real shot, sounds like Coach Brick needs to make a trip to Florida.

no way you should be hearing this from a top 10 player in the country. sometimes you just don't understand the staff. they spend tons of time and energy on johnson (the qb project) knowing he would junp at an auburn offer but you hear this from a top 5-10 player in country.

I believe LSU has decided Tunsil is too much of a reach. I think both LSU and Tunsil have moved on.

That's what I was thinking would lead to this quote. No sense wasting time with him.
