Lesson in humility...

I was thinking about the games that many of these kids were playing right up until signing day. Many knew where they were going but wanted the spotlight so they pretended to be seriously looking at many options. The early commits get little or less attention. The process clearly shows the maturity from one prospect to another. My question is...do the head-coaches remember that behavior and is there a price to pay once practice starts?? I know of a (short in stature) coach residing east of here that can't possibly forget that type of behavior. He might play the game until signing day but I suspect the coach-player relationship changes immediately upon receipt of the LOI. Which player (based on his games/announcement hype) is in for the biggest attitude adjustment come summer practice?

you right if they don't prefrom to his liking he will chew them out quick, fast, and in a hurry he made a grown man cry in the NFL.

It has to eat him up to cater to that behavior. We know based on his tenure here that he has a very hard time getting along with adults...even the ones who are senior in rank...ie university presidents, AD's, etc. I truly believe that is why he left for Miami. What do you think is going through that head when an 18 year old is playing with him and has the power to do so?

don't even want to think about it.

It is a double edge sword the kids say what they want an a coach says what is needed to get the kid. ever watch the Program the RB steps off the bus an says where is the band an the OL meeting him says they got u now u are just a little freshman.

Well, this doesn't really address your specific question, and it probably doesn't need to be said again, but I just love the fact that Michael Ford was such a top prospect, committed so early in the process, and his LOI was received at 8:08 a.m. National Signing Day! That man is ready to carry the ball!!!

Yes...funny stuff! The more important question is...Have these kids seen it?? That's where I would hope that the parents give the proper guidance in that situation.

Agreed! That's what makes the ones that are both great athletes and great kids...so great! We signed a few more just like that but I won't mention names. I do, however, LOVE everything that I read or was quoted about Sam Montgomery's mother and how she approached the entire process. What a class act and I hope she reads this!

Maybe I am an old Dinosaur but all this hype they put on these kids seems to me that it just makes them harder and harder to coach. SOme of their egos are bigger than the coaches.
