Long as Frank Wilson is at Tenn, you can forget about it. But don't fear, the guy has been jumping around on jobs. I'm not sure he'll even be there by the time Johnson signs. That is why he most likely will be at our July camp. Hes got to think about his future too. But at least we're still hitting him up hard and hes trying to show the love back.
All I got to say about that, is its a loooooooooooooong time for Tenn fans and signing day.

Les doesn't have to get any one player....saying that is ridiculous

We don't have to get this guy. But we want him. He is going to be an outstanding player. I hope we get him.

Yes it would be great to get this guy but if we don't....we don't. I hate when people say we HAVE to get someone. We will survive with or without him

Trust the Wizzard, you need some "Wiz-dom." Football, as with other sports, can be a game of inches, feet, yards, leadership and personalities. Though for the most part football is a team sport, individuals can make a difference by making plays that no one else could at that time can make. A perfect example of this are fast guys who can out run everyone once they get the ball in their hands. Players who are not as fast, don't usually go the distance or can't make those plays. Therefore, though football is the ultimate team sport, you still try and get the best individuals on your team, hence, recuiting and its importance.
A. Johnson is not a speedy guy who can take it all the way, but he is a speedy guy who can penetrate the backfield and make plays. Since, he is a homegrown product in a state which averages a tenth the population of California, Texas, and Florida, we need to try and get him, if we truly want to win future championships. Hence the "have to" language I used. If we don't get him, I hope we have several other guys in La. just as good, or that we can do the harder task of getting the same quality of player from other states, which is a much harder task. However, winning championships makes that easier.

Im the one who needs wisdom??? Wow.
First, you are dilusional if you think that one specific interior lineman will be the difference in winning a National Championship or not. Granted, you make a good point about "a game of inches" cliché you probably found on the back of a football instructional video. Since you brought him up, let's flashback-National Championship season....Dorsey gets chopblocked and is clearly not healthy and we still win.
Second, look at the not so highly rated DLimeman we have brought in and turned into great college players, and even pros. I agree that this kid is extremely good by if you think we have to getthis one guy or we are in trouble you've got to be joking.
Third, read up on Frank Wilson's "God-like" perception in OPW country. As long as he is there AJ will be there. It's a long way to signing day, but it's gonna be extremely tough to pull this guy from the "second coming of Jesus".

He will not qualify.

I get what your saying "dahulk". A. Johnson is a high quality homegrown future 5* DL. He's in LSU's back yard. Lots of recruiting followers are excited about the kid. Losing LA talent of that caliber to out of state teams hurts our cause, but it wont cripple it. I think most of those arguing with you are getting caught up on the phrase "have to get".
Sure we dont have to get one player to win, but having a dominant player like AJ may make the difference in winning the SEC/NC. You take it when you get it. The margin of error is very narrow in the SEC. I think your statement could be better worded to avoid the conflict you find yourself in.
How about "Les really needs to get AJ back".

Not totally buying that.

He is staying put. Was quoted as saying he thinks of Frank Wilson as a father. He committed to UT without even visiting, and after his first visit last weekend he said his commitment was as solid as anyone's in the country. Also thought Knoxville was the nicest place he'd ever been. Loved the mountains and the river. Ed O and Frank are going to be pulling LA talent for years to come.

He's already talking about taking other visits.

Guess you haven't seen Frank's past. That is if you can keep him on your team long enough before your fans drive him out.
Just fyi, Tenn has a long ways in keeping this kid. He most likely will be at LSU's camp this month.

Our staff encourages players to take other visits. Primarilly, to recruit players to UT. See Smiith at the Alabama camp last weekend. He went and bad mouthed the coaching staff and Campus the entire weekend trying to sway bama recruits to Knoxville.

Janzen Jackson, Anthony Johnson, Broussard...Ouch...you can have Maclin. Memphis recruits never pick UT. An expert such as your self should know that.

You are so far removed that posting this type of garbage gives me a hint of your credibility. NOne.

It hurts losing players we haven't offered like Broussard. Just like Ahmad Paige. Ouch.
