Be here when he signs. He is telling coaches he is coming. And that is right from new offensive staffs mouths.

So true this new way of recruiting sucks. These kids know they will get last second offers if they are turned away from other universities. They play these schools like a fiddle.

I call bullsh*t, there’s no way we ever tell that to a recruit.

Doesn’t have to be true, just telling you what BTJ’s dad is saying. I’m on team LSU and what makes us better and clearly BTJ does. Again I was just passing on the info, and it is true to me because it’s what the dads saying two days before signing day. I’m sure LSU wants to keep him in state, but it’s what the dads saying, that’s what my OP is all about what the dads saying.

That’s flat out BS. We didn’t bring in Peetz and Mangas to go back to Power-I formation. We will be in 4-5-wide sets fairly often. You got Boutte, and... right... those other guys he can split time with.

I agree. This is hilarious... "Sign with us, but you won't play much your 1st year" this is words being mis-translated.

Makes no sense to me. Would he rather get paid a few 100k now or watch his son become a multi millionaire when he leaves LSU? Not sure if he’s aware or not, but Jimbo doesn’t exactly have a great track record developing WR’s.
ETA: sources on the Aggie side aren’t very confident. Seems like it’s an LSU/Bama battle.

Mane stop lying that's not in Ed's vernacular. What you meant to say "Nick Saban told his family he wouldn't get much playing time"...

If he commits to Bama im going to lose it.

Telling BTJ that he won't receive playing time as a true freshman is a terrible way to recruit. Just like you said, it doesn't seem likely.

Spot on, GeauxLSU4, Jimbo’s track record w/ WRs is garbage.
The thing that Jimbo does have going for him now, however (and I’m NOT implying that this applies to BTJ), is the persuasiveness of a bagman with deep, deep pockets.
I mean, seriously, have y’all noticed how recently aTm is much more frequently in the top-3 of kids they haven’t been signing in years?? Their landing highly coveted OL/DL targets that were all but unattainable for aTm just 3-4 years ago. Sorry, but I’m not buying that’s all coming from a New Years 6 bowl victory.
Nor am I buying that’s all the result of Jimbo’s recruiting acumen (he got studs at FSU b/c of the cache of the program built by Bowden & the geographic footprint of Tallahassee).
IMO, the big aTm money got a taste of being relevant in the CFP conversation, and they liked it enough to loosen up their purse strings to ratchet up recruiting. Their older boosters are probably lovin’ it, having flashbacks to how players where purchased back in the good ‘ole days of the Southwest Conference, haha.....

A&M’s 5-star freshman WR never touched the field last season. LSU always plays it’s freshman early.

The same dad who’s gotten a rep for going around with his fricking hand out? I wish his son the best, but frick him.

So that gives us what, a 50/50 chance?

Don't understand why people always bring up LSU has a lot of WRs signed. None of them currently have the skill set BTJ has in that he can add weight and be a taller bigger redzone target for LSU. Most of the WRs on LSU's roster incoming and current are small guys that quick/fast. They have too many slot type guys. Need some bigger 6'4 targets.

That makes no sense. And he would get more playing time here than he would at Bama or A&M either way

He wouldn't play early at aTm or Bama either, so that's a moot point.
