I heard the parents basically decided too, but it was because LSU refused to match when A&M upped the ante 24 hours before signing day. Jacoby wanted to come to LSU.

For some people, $50k is a life changing sum of money, especially for folks that have never had much of it.

And it’s an especially hard decision for a young man who has never had that type of pressure put on them. I don’t think we appreciate that these families are looking at their kids as a payday and influencing them to do what they want.

And sure while there’s the opportunity to make much more in the NFL, that’s not guaranteed so these people influencing these kids today are trying to get their take now, with the hope that maybe they’ll get more down the road.

TLDR - don’t make it sound like it’s some easy decision for a young kid to make about a large sum of money when there’s so many outside influences.

but at the scale of $400k and $450k, $50k isn’t make or break. They’re still both a large sum of money.
