Any open scholarships can go to transfers.

There is a stickied thread on this forum that has nearly any info you could need.

Thread: Signing Limit Waiver Details

I don't know precisely what is meant by the original responder in this thread. I don't believe "Any open scholarships can go to transfers" is accurate.

So 14 hs recruit or transfer spot remaining and 1 of the 7 transfer spots remaining right? Or is my math off?

If there are 15 open scholarships
15 can go to transfers
Or
15 can go to HS kids
Or
Any combination of HS and transfers that make up the 15 spots

We will qualify for the maximum number of slots available above the 25, so 32 total.

That 32 can be any combination of incoming HS graduates or transfers.

We currently have 13 HS signees and i believe 6 transfer commits?

That leaves us with 16 more slots to fill. Again, those can be any combination of incoming HS grads or transfers.

I think some may be disagreeing because you said "any open scholarships". Although that is technically correct in terms of the 25/32. They probably thought you were referring to the total 85.

Touchy. Didn't say I knew anything. Give Shea my apologies though.

I believe your use of the phrase "open scholarships" is inaccurate though you appear to mean open spots in our possible 32 player signing class.

LSU has will still have "open scholarships" if they sign/take transfers from 32 players in this class.

Wouldn’t we have to take at least 3 more transfers if we wanted to max the class out? Or can the 7 transfer spots go to high schoolers too?

I believe at least 7 would have to go to transfers but that doesn’t seem to be an issue. With brooks and Cain, we’ve filled 6 transfers already (not 4).

The replacement scholarships can go to any initial counters – they do not have to be players from the transfer portal. They can be used on high school recruits, JUCO transfers, or D1 transfers.

From the other thread.

The 7 "transfer spots" are waivers to replace scholarship players who transferred out, and they can go to HS JUCO or transfers.

According to the rules that were posted in the stickied thread, no.

Ok I stand corrected - but considering we’ve already signed 6 transfers and we’re mostly targeting the portal it’s a moot point really

Is your math wrong or am I missing something? 32 total. 13 signees plus 6 transfers is 19 already. 32-19 is 13. Where is 16 coming from?

Me too. Seems like we could add 39 guys if that’s the case

Eta.

I do think the ncaa should at least let teams that lose a lot to be able to get to 75 by any means.

You need these scholarships for guys that you want to develop. It’s a huge disparity if Alabama is able to keep 85 while LSU can only get to 72.

I keep hearing that you’ll only play about 50 or so. I still want 81*.

Ncaa created this. It has to fix it.
