we slow played Kenny Young throughout the year
Where did you hear it? He goes to Curtis. They aren't allowed to take visits during football season, so we slow played him because he's just now taking his visit?

Yeah all that slow playing Kenny Young and we had him on the backburner or as a back up plan to CG just isnt true. At all. We were 1 of his 1st offers his sophomore year and hes been to LSU multiple times and we have been down there to see him and visit with him multiple times.

Kenny is just quiet on the recruiting front and plays everything close to his chest. But we have given him the same treatment as every other recruit.

Not bring ugly here, but do we really know that KY was on the back burner? Has that been confirmed by one of the coaches on staff at the HS or at LSU?

My source tells me KY was never slow played and if he goes oos it has nothing to do with CG or Lsu. Just might want a different experience for college. If he plays in the sec it will be Lsu.

Otaro Alakas twitter "I'd like to thank Coach Strong and UT for the offer but Ive decided to decommit from the university of Texas and commit to Texas A&M! #gigem". Alaka the olb who was going to visit LSU last week just flipped. Could help with Young

Hearing the reason he flipped is b/c KY likely coming to LSU.

Where did you hear LSU was slow playing him?

On the internet?

Did you also hear his interview or read about it where he said LSU was recruiting him the hardest??

FWIW: a player giving you a silent commit don't mean squat. He might have done the same everywhere. I'm sure in the past lsu has had some silent commits flip but we never heard about it.

If you have a recruit you want you recruit him up until you have that LOI on the fax machine signed, motorized, and the kid enrolled.

Come on young can't wait to see you in P&G

Otaro Alaka flipping from Texas to Texas A&M puts LSU very much back in play for Young!!!

We got 2 days to lock him up...

Alaka - OLB
Young - ILB

I doubt the Alaka decision has anything to do with Kenny Young.

Yeah, but the Aggies are still recruiting him to play inside, so I don't see the connection.

This entire recruiting cycle has been a crash course on silent commits and what they really mean, which is jack shite. Sometimes the kids keep their word, sometimes they don't. The only thing that means anything is what school's hat they put on, and even that doesn't always mean anything.

Gotta love the commentary in this thread. Garrett has no effect on Young's recruitment but Alaka committing to A&M is the difference.

Yeah, I don't buy that logic either. People seeing what they want to see.

I'm taking the stance that none of them are coming. None. Young, Dupre, Adoree, Fournette. None. Even Brandon Harris is dropping out. It's over.
