Coincidence hearing O mention Junior College players multiple times in the press conference because I called it Saturday leaving the game. Mullen got the approval from him administration to bring in a larger than usual class of JUCO guys and it seems to be paying dividends early. We play a lot of young guys that are talented but its hard to overcome guys who've had 2-3 years of college strength and conditioning already. When I played at PRCC we had multiple LSU targets including my boy Byrd and LSU recruited a ton of other guys that never made it to campus (Charles Deas- one of the best DT I've seen play and was committed to LSU - No college due to character issues) (Marcus Ball - ended up going to memphis because of academic issues later with Panthers) (OJ Murdock - Fort Hayes state due to academic issues, later to titans). There is definitely a ton of talent at that level to make a difference, getting them on campus may be a challenge in and of itself (ie. Stephen Guidry).

***For those with short patience***
With that being said, who are the guys particularly in the trenches we may go after?

Dorian Gerald and Traore are the top two targets right now. I think we will explore more defensive options and a few offensive but those are the two we're after right now along with Moore already committed

Didn't know this kid ended up going JUCO, think we recruited him pretty heavily out of HS. I think either O or meatball made a trip to co-lin last recruiting cycle, not sure if it was related to him or not.

They should be calling Traore every day begging him to come in and start day 1.

Yes he's great friends with Ray thorton and loves LSU! If we offered he'd be here! Just put on a lot of added weight and seemed out of shape after this offseason yet if were to fix that he'd be a great prospect

That's terrible. No way I would go after this guy. That pic says it all to me. Would never play a snap at LSU simply because he would be passed by more motivated players. LSU wants and needs guys that are self motivated that way when they get here all you have to worry about is giving him his assignments, he does the rest. Plus guys that are self-motivated tend to play much harder for you and the team.

We better start going after them soon and if I'm LSU I would dip into JUCO as often as I could if the guy seems to be changed or has fixed what ever issue had slowed him to begin with.

These guys are usually damn solid players that made mistakes or fell on some bad luck. Go get the smart self-motivated individuals, and especially when there are depth issues. Need to look at solid transfer guys as well. LSU should've been on this for as long as they've known about them.

Lots of room at LSU on the lines for these JUCO situations. This is the exact opportunity they are looking for. Come in and fill depth, and start immediately or the year after. Lets go get them Ed O.

He actually looks slimmed down from months before where he looked like a hot air balloon.

Dude, you judging a kid by a picture???? Do you not remember Chad Lavalais and his story? He came to LSU 6 years after graduating high school. I bet you he looked like that kid when he stepped on campus.

Never underestimate the size of the fight in the dog!

Don't forget we have Fehoko who will be great next year. But we do lose Lacouture (Who never really had a high ceiling), Herron (who never hit his ceiling), and Gilmore (who looks much better, but still can't make a play to save his life).

Losing Lacouture or Gilmore is no big deal.

Fehoko and shelvin help our case tremendously! I really feel we could add Traore and another offensive juco guy with how many very good prospects are interested. We should go very hard in defensive juco tho! Unlike the offensive pull for next year we could use some extra big guys! Some high ranked guys showing interest and solid players very interested. One will be visiting so far from the guys I've spoken to! Just seeing next years class of olineman it's just unbelievably stacked with guys who want in. These issues can be dealt with ease really no need to worry!

That kid isn't even starting at Co-Lin and he went into the season at almost 400pds.If we have to start signing kids that can't even start in JUCO then we are in trouble!

Another OT actually at the same school Traore plays for. Thomas Lopez Plays the opposite side of Traore but looks like he could play inside or out. Currently committed to UCF but if offered he'd be ours and would solidify Traore being a tiger! Watch his film and see what you think but he doesn't seem too bad! Hudl

And a guard Damien Lewis out of NWCC is gaining interest from the staff
