The recruiting board used to be fun to read, a place of intelligent discussion. I wish admins would ban some of the 10-year-olds.

Why is he only a 2 star? Kid had great size, strength, very good speed, etc.

Is he another one flying under the radar?

He is a 3-star on some recruiting sites.

I know the Johns Family. He got offered a scholarship and I think he will be one helluva a LSU Tiger. I dont appreciate hearing negatigers talking crap about a fine young man who I am hoping with hard work will be the next Craig Steltz. If you watch his highlights he shows qualities of a Craig Steltz type player. He and his family are such diehard LSU fans that he is willing to take a grayshirt to be part of this team. I remember many 2 star and 3 star recruits who turned out to be awesome LSU players.

I'm all for trusting the judgement of 'professional' coaches. I'm also all for having diehard LSU fans on the team.

Looks like a potential convert to a Chavis OLB to me.

I agree, and I am looking for a move to faster LBs. We have the DL to allow the LBs to be cover first, and run stop second in terms of priority.

On the Steltz comparison and He doesn't have to be an AA to be a contributor.

Welcome Josh Johns. Our coaches want you to be a Tiger, so I do as well. Make your parents proud.

this is a good addition, you get a guy who will at the least be an animal on special teams, who may develop into a pretty good player, he is a die hard tiger which can only be said of a couple of players each year. You wont have to worry about him being a cancer at any point in his career. Championship teams are made with guys like this being the glue

All I have to say is I hope this doesn't mean we've given up on Darren Myles. Why wasn't Johns offered as a preferred walk-on? I understand he's a greyshirt...but will he ever play more than special teams at LSU.

You're asking the Recruiting Board? The coaches think enough to offer more than a preferred WO.
