worry or panic now??
Everyone panic even with another 5* QB committed

you know as well as I do that if he stays committed he's dropping to a high 3 or low 4.

a year's time Ole Miss' "success" this season will be forgotten. Freeze has plenty of time to lose seven games before Patterson commits.
Shea wants to commit before his senior year doesn't he? Early enrolee as well?

Plus people need to realize that Sean Patterson was hired at LSU because of his potential as a coach. He could very well have a long successful coaching career. Sean choose LSU over several big schools.
i was wondering if he was learning to be a QB coach. I'd really like one here if/when Cam leaves.

I think Franks will be an excellent QB. He doesn't look "pro ready" in his technique like Shea, but you don't have to have perfect technique to excel in college. I think LSU will be fine without Shea, but that's not to say I wouldn't love him to commit to LSU.
Franks looks similar to Winston in high school and with that kind of upside, without the baggage, he could be heisman level good after a redshirt year.

Sooo, jimmy's chat was about a 2016 QB recruit favoring Ole Miss? If so, could the OP change thread title?

what do you think about patterson's footwork compared to franks?
Posted on 2/3/15 at 7:38 pm to Hoodatt
Yeah...don't expect anything pertinent to tomorrow. Let's talk about a recruit that has a year and a half of high school left. Lol

Pattersons is much more advanced at this point.

yes on both. He wants to commit soon and shut it down. No flipping. He wants to focus on ball next year and will enrolle early.

It's great. He is very technically sound. I've said before that he is good enough to start as a true freshman if he could pick up the system (any system, not just LSU's). His real challenge will be adjusting to the game speed, decision making, etc.
He's Aaron Murray IMO. Murray was also a 5 star QB and athletic pocket passer (ran for nearly 1000 yards as a senior in high school, threw for 4k). Very good technically, but no real upside. That's what I get from Patterson. However he has enough talent to be a great QB at LSU. Upside is more for the NFL game. All LSU needs is an accurate passer.
I really don't think he'll come here though. His only real connection is his bro who could get a higher position somewhere else. He's also not from Louisiana as he moved here just two years ago.

You hit the nail on the head. Murray is exactly who he reminds me of, and with that kind of career on this team, he'd have some championship rings to show. I think Franks has a higher ceiling though.

Franks is better than Patterson looking at both highlights. Franks is bigger than Patterson looking at both highlights.
If Patterson commits theyll both be 4*'s this time next year. If either or both are uncommited theyll jump to/stay at 5*.

How did you come to the conclusion that franks looks better than Patterson? You must have watched the wrong films. Patterson looks a lot better than franks on film. Franks has terrible throwing form and his highlights are nothing but deep balls. Patterson you see every aspect of his game from running, short routes, screens, and 50 yard bombs. Patterson is 6'2 an if you see his dad you'll see he could reach 6'3-6'4 range or so. Now if he reaches that height....your looking at a 6'3 190-200 range who runs a 4.5 forty and has better mechanics and intangibles than anyone in his class and it's not even close and can make any throw on the field. Franks is good but game time comes I want Patterson.

Yeahhhh no bias here.
Patterson has much better mechanics, Franks has much better natural talent.
You know who else was a record breaking QB with decent size, decent natural ability, and great mechanics that was highly sought after?
I'm not saying he's Brock Berlin, but people need to chill out. Both QBs are very good and getting just 1 of them would be just fine for our program.
We are going to clean up recruiting every other position next year with Miles, Steele, O, Frank, Grimes, and Raymond with a stacked LA class.

I actually like Franks more than Shea. I would love for LSU to get both, but I wouldn't want to lose Franks for any reason

I just don't see LSU getting two QB of that caliber. QB tend to be very aware of numbers and spread out more than any other position. For that reason alone, I don't think we will get Patterson.

Yeah I am a bit biased....but what's that matter? I want franks at LSU but I think it's essential in getting Patterson. LSU needs to continue to lock down Louisiana borders....if LSU offers a kid in state he should be coming to LSU. No question. I don't believe in package deals but I know if you get Patterson at LSU every top receiver in Louisiana will wanna play with him. I know stars don't mean much in the grand scheme of things but if Louisiana has a 5 or 4 star guy then he should be at LSU...Patterson is a guy that if other recruits see him going out of state then they will as well. I believe if fournette wouldn't have come to LSU then we wouldn't have a lot of the guys we have now...not comparing the 2 but Patterson is one of those guys. For the sake of recruiting we don't need to let him out of Louisiana

How often does LSU get a 5*QB committed a year in advance. How often do we get to build a class around a guy like Franks 6'5 #1 Dual QB. Why do we need WR to follow Shea we already have the best WR class of 2016 and Adam Henry. Brandon Harris blowing up this year will make this less of a big deal IMO.
Chances of getting Patterson & Franks -slim
Chances of going all out for Patterson and the #1 DT QB from FL being totally cool and not flipping -slim
Chances of being content with Franks and getting the #1 signing class in 2016 with all the LA guys -likely
