Best thing for Purple with Gold is to step away from recruiting. I pretty much have done so, just check here to see who we have committed or watch when a guy is said to be committing. These insiders absolutely get more information than anyone. They work really hard and cover all their angles. At the end of all this, they still are wrong as many times as they are right. They used to be right more often than not, but in this new age of posting every second of your thoughts on social media, that has changed. Kids aren't as loyal these days and enjoy keeping a bunch of old guys guessing all year. LSU is going to have a good class and they are also going to miss out on kids thought to be coming here. Follow my lead and focus on the one's listed in the committed thread.

We have someone with actual 'insider' info posting on a free board and you're acting like a total dick to him.. Why?! That is exactly why the recruiting gurus make people pay for their services and you're exactly why 247 is a much better place to discuss recruiting/sports in general

Unless you're privy to that info, then I wouldn't judge 'most' kids based on quotes or actions without taking everything into consideration.

Basically agree with everything you said except I haven't 100% stepped away from recruiting because once again, this is the best way to judge future character...how guys handle recruiting tells you a lot about they handle adversity. For example, some talk about "oh, they are 17 or 18 year olds." Really, really bad news on that excuse. They are only going to be a few months older when they enter college aren't they? I mean, it isn't like they are going to be playing in college at 29 yo.
I agree with you about predictions used to be more accurate. Some of that is the kids' fault, some of that are the analysts' fault who ask the same ? about where they are leaning about 5 different ways. Yeah, if I was a kid, I might give them an answer just to shut them up too. I will say that if a recruiting guy is using "sources" and they miss time after time after time, then maybe that is what you might refer to as an "unreliable source". I mean, when you post a list one day saying "all my sources say LSU, LSU, LSU", and the very next day, the guy says he is all UNC, maybe that source is a pretty bad one.

You really have no clue. Who do you think these "sources" are? I'm not talking to classmates or gym teachers. You're honestly speaking about things that you have zero knowledge on.
