Graduating after a redshirt sophomore year is impressive.

She's a senior though and from New Orleans, probably wont be here when he plays so idk if he'd come here for her because she wont be here. Not saying he wouldnt come for basketball purposes solely though. But i could see how Tulane and here would be realistic for those reasons.

If his girlfriend went to LSU and we want his cousin, then making an offer for him (considering his size/stats) makes tons of sense.

not knocking the guy in any way...if he can start would be a super plus...we don't need anymore 6'10 or 7' projects on the bench anymore,,,we have or had enough the past 2 years...just sayin'...

Reading through this thread made me cut diamonds.

He grew 7 inches between his mid high school and college playing days so his first year in college was a redshirt. He was 6'10" 190... Now at 6'10" 240 he is still thin but has a good stretch PF basketball body.
Jarreau tore his ACL only 2 minutes into his RS Soph year. He is still classified as a Jr, however, most are very sure he will be granted his hardship waiver seeing that he only played 2 minutes.

LSU needs a guy who can come in for 15-20 minutes per game and score 5 and rebound 5.... That's what he has already proved he can do in division 1 big boy basketball. He score 12+ points against two top 25 teams last year. We need a guy who can give us good minutes after Victor and Simmons in the post. This guy isn't nearly the project as a Kasongo who is likely going to Miss St.
Washington wasn't very good last year, but Jarreau started 21 games for them last season. He would be a major upgrade at a position of need.

Not that I've heard. I did see an article on Nola dot com with a quote from Jernard's AAU coach saying he wanted to hear from LSU though. He did say he has heard from over a dozen teams already though.
Kasongo is still coming on his visit to LSU this coming weekend so there may be some hesitancy, but I feel like I'd rather Jarreau than Kasongo.

Some video from 2010
I can't really find many highlights from his time at UW, but he seems to have pretty good handles and a smooth stroke for a guy his size.
ETA - Looks like these highlights come from a documentary called The Come Up.

I'm with you. The fact that this guy graduated early, has New Orleans roots, and allegedly wants LSU to contact him are big, positive intangibles. It suggests maturity and loyalty. Kasongo's intangibles don't measure up nearly as well. Jarreau and Kasongo are similar in size and Jarreau has better experience. Maybe one can make an argument that Kasongo is more explosive and has a higher ceiling but he also probably has a lower floor. I hope LSU makes a serious play for Jarreau.

And just that he's going in to his 5th year in college and will likely get a 6th year. That's big from a maturity standpoint and he could be a real asset to a team built mainly around Freshmen next year.
