Okay.

"We tell guys when they commit that we want the recruiting to be over or we really don’t want them to commit. If you’re not really ready to stop recruiting, then you aren’t really ready to commit because committing means you are coming to that school.

I guess this only applies to his commitments.

here's an article from a non bama site about hill looking around LINK

quote:

Jeremy Hill is a Baton Rouge, La. native—so he’s not going to be jumping off the LSU ship this early without a really good reason. But that hasn’t kept him from keeping his eyes open.

Only weeks into his junior year of high school, Hill committed to LSU last fall with fellow Redemptorist (Baton Rouge, La.) teammate La’el Collins—an offensive lineman. Since they were freshmen, both had spent a lot of time on campus.

But that hasn’t kept Alabama, Florida State, Miami, Oregon, USC, Tennessee and many others from trying to lure the Sporting News Top 100 watchlist candidate away from the Tigers. All of those schools, except for USC, have already extended written scholarship offers—and the Trojans could be next. The running back has decided to check out Alabama this weekend and Florida State next weekend, attending junior days at both schools.

“I’m still committed to LSU; I’m a solid verbal,” Hill told Sporting News Today. “When I committed it was understood that I’m still going to take a couple visits to other schools. I’m just going to check out other places, that’s basically it. I’m not trying to change my mind, I just want to see what else is out there.

“When I got my written offer from Alabama, it was in a nice package and it was signed by the head coach, Nick Saban. When the national champions are coming after you, it’s kind of hard not to put them into consideration. I just want to see what they have to offer, to see what’s up there.”

Hill said Collins has similar thoughts. He said his prep teammate is still an LSU recruit, but is keeping his options open. Collins is another serious candidate for the 2011 Sporting News Top 100.

“People understand why I’m checking out schools,” Hill said. “Everybody around here is definitely LSU crazy, and of course they don’t want me to change my mind, but they understand football … Now, if everything is all set and done and I’m not an LSU Tiger, I’m sure some of them might not understand.”

Whoever lands him will be getting a special running back.

“Everybody has a good highlight tape, but coaches have told me that when they break down my game film they like that I go hard on every single play,” Hill said. “They can tell that I don’t take any time off. I care about my blocking, I don’t care just about carrying the ball."

His job is to recruit the best players that fit into his system. He is committed to BAMA, to not recruit the best players would be dishonoring that commitment. The committed player must honor his commitment, not other coaches.

I understand what you guys think. But this is more than just looking around. If you truly LOVE LSU and are committed, why would you give another school (which hates LSU) like Bama teh pleasure of making LSU recruits look uncertain? They will use that against LSU when a truly uncertain recruit visits.

They will use this against LSU this year the same way we try to use their commitments to lure other top recruits and have them join us to be part of such a great class, maybe greatest ever!

This is not good, period...spin it how you would like. If your prom date said she was goin with you, but she is still taking visits from guys who are interested.......be scared!
Wow.

I think LSUsaint is actually not a LSU fan...just saying.

Just trying to stir shite up with his stink on this board.

It would be embarrassing for LSU to lose a BR kid...which 99.9% chance isn't happening when hes right down the road.

These recruiting sites try to create buzz, hits on their web sites, and interest...These all generate revenues through advertising dollars.

The people who are stupid enough to fall for this are idiots.

Hill and Landry committed on the spot when offered...end of story regardless of taking visits...that's what recruits do...especially kids from poor or economically disadvantaged families. Some of these kids have never even been outside of the borders of the state of LA.

This is all bullshite...

Its one thing for out of state commits to waiver and change their commitment. LSU has had only three in state guys do this in as long as I can remember. Two were at the end of the recruiting process (Jackson & Bell) and Davis had his offer yanked when he was caught in a lie.

Jackson had shaky ties to LA with a father that he knew was leaving the state and was playing games using his 5 star son to get an upgrade in coaching job while at McNeese. Jackson's lie to the LSU staff that he was still a commit was orchestrated to hurt the LSU program at the behest of another LSU hater Ed Orgeron and sleazy Lame Kiffen.

Bell appeared to be a basket case and will probably regret his decision. Ranked as the #40 @ his position, he was intimidated by the possibility of (the #1 WR recruit) Randle and Benton both committing to LSU. He did not want to compete, but this decision is coming back to bite him considering LSU's lack of depth at WR from an experience standpoint.

LSU has had 43 LA kids commit over the last 3 years. 40 kept their commitment. 3/43 = 6.9%

Or, over the last 3 years, LSU lost 7% of the instate players that have committed. And, one of the three had screwy family situation, two were a liars, and one was afraid to compete and weak enough to believe Nick Saban who cans (yanks player’s scholarships when they are making their grades and are not discipline problems) his recruits for next years best and brightest.

I'm not worried about losing Hill or Landry...93% chance they stay committed....

Quiet printing lies, unless you have a quote from the player. Web sites like Scout and Rivals print lies to get people to read.

Just like I thought, Rivals said Landry MAY be reopening. Doesn't mean a damn thing. He and Hill are tigers.

Can't blame these kids for wanting to enjoy the recruiting process and visit other schools. Free trips, meet chicks, free meals... It is up to LSU to continue to recruit these kids as hard as they can and, most importantly, perform on the field. Be a contender!

Really?
TOO LITTLE, LATE

The Tigers attempted to re-open their recruitment of Dutchtown's Lacy via a visit from offensive coordinator Gary Crowton two weeks ago, but received a luke-warm reception from Lacy, according to Dutchtown Coach Benny Saia.

The late bid followed LSU's loss of Navasota, Texas, running back Dexter Pratt, who was unable to enroll at LSU in mid-term due to an NCAA Clearinghouse issue. Pratt subsequently de-committed, made an official visit to Oklahoma State and then flipped to Cowboys of the Big 12.

"I think Alabama is the leader for (Lacy)," Saia said. "I don't think Eddie closed the door (on LSU), but I don't think Eddie gave them a lot to be excited about. LSU decided to get in on him when they lost somebody they thought they had who was not as good as Eddie is. I really think Eddie got his feelings hurt when LSU didn't recruit him right away."

LSU's coaching staff was upfront with Lacy that his uncertain academic qualifying status affected their initial interest. LSU's latest bid included a discussion about signing and placing Lacy at a prep school or junior college should he not qualify following his May graduation, a move Alabama previously had suggested, Saia said.
