Cutrer was the lone true safety recruit for LSU, until the academic concerns surfaced.

No, he wasn't.

Are we getting nit picky enough?

My apologies--I should have said true safety commit. Is that now acceptable to you, great one?

No matter what word you choose, it doesn't change the fact that Ricky Jefferson was being recruited as a safety even before Cutrer became a non-option.

Hey, thanks for a good response--I honestly don't know--but it seems like the coaching staff always seems to come up with a way to navigate around the #s.

You're likely right--the only way he could still sign now is for someone else to not qualify academically and of course LSU would have to be sure he could be approved by the Clearing House in a timely manner.

Not to hijack, but is your name Roger? I think I've met you in Dallas a couple of times at game watching parties. I noticed the Big Spring under your user name.

He didn't quite deliver on his side of the deal (eligibility), so I don't think we owe him a scholly.
Is he better than the '14 recruits at DB?
If so, He's better than I thought...

My son who is not an honor grad or anything like that made a 17 on the ACT in the seventh grade. Also I thought you had to have a 24 or 25 to get into LSU...

I believe the SEC is the only one that uses Section 8 which allows athletes to enroll with sub-standard metrics ie GPA or ACT score. My sisters dad was telling me about it from when he played at LSU. No other conference uses it or at least no major conference that comes to mind.

I don't think that is correct.

Yes, you got it. It's a small world sometimes. I usually go to Dallas to see a game or 2 with one of the LSU fan groups each season.
