HEY EVERYBODY!!!!! Anthony Jennings, LSU QB recruit, is tearing it up at the Elite 11! You know, the Elite 11, where the best QBs in the nation go through competition and drills. Max Browne, Shane Morris, Christian Hackenberg, Cooper Bateman are there. Jennings has consistently been mentioned as the top or one of the top 2 performers.

Where's everybody? This is great news!

Almost sounds like a baseball player who has participated in the home run derby. Hope it's O.K. for the beginning of his junior season.

Shouldn't it be senior season?

Apologies. I need to go to bed. I just went into the 2014 stickied thread and replaced what was there with around 20 smaller pictures. Kind of have 2014 on my brain right now.

Maybe so, but not on the evidence of tweets from Elite11. These guys are professional smoke-blowers. That's how they get attention. In fact, I think I read that AJ did not even make the top 11. So the best he could be is 12th, right?

Also one has to consider that the coaches at the Elite 11 evaluate the players based on more just the thowing sessions. They also consider how they do in the film sessions, how they control the huddle, their overall demeanor and other intangibles that could not be discerned from watching just the throwing sessions (my two cents on the differences in how the Eite 11 coaches and the recruiting "experts" rated the players).

Here's what Trent Dilfer said about the guys that didn't make their final cut: ESPN High School

quote:

Dilfer mentioned a number of times that this group of finalists was especially difficult to choose. Impressive weeks were turned in by Troy Williams (Harbor City, Calif./Narbonne), DeVante Kincade (Dallas/Skyline), Anthony Jennings (Marietta, Ga./Marietta), Shane Morris (Warren, Mich./De La Salle) and plenty of others. The group "exceeded expectations monumentally" according to Dilfer, who added that the starting point was already raised several notches with this year's class. The quarterbacks received an extensive playbook several weeks before the start of camp and were asked to know it inside and out.

But it wasn't just on the field and in the classroom where these quarterbacks were tested. After a 4 a.m. wake-up call on Friday, they were taken by bus to the beach, where they were put through a workout with a Navy SEAL team.

He's still coming back from an injury. He had a couple of bad sessions and some exceptional ones. Even with the bad ones no one ever said he was rotten (like they did Tyrone Swoopes after The Opening). I look forward to how he does his senior year on a healthy pair of legs.
