Read an article earlier today from Shea on Martin and how he feels about being named an All-American, and future LSU tiger and these quotes stuck out to me the most

quote:

Martin, who plays high school basketball just a few exits up the interstate from LSU's campus, said he doesn't often miss a chance to see his future team suit up, from games at the PMAC to away contests on the television.

"We are bringing LSU basketball back."

It's good to see that recruits are on board with building something more, and being apart of a new era. CJJ really has these kids believing, and any time you have one of the most coveted players in the country buying in, great things are bound to happen.

You have to like what Johnny Jones is doing at LSU. We have yet to see the magic Jones will bring back. Yet, they are winning games now, how bout them apples!

Don't think it matters too much but probably as the 3 in the starting lineup. Martin, Coleman, and Mickey are all interchangeable at the 3 and 4.

Don't think Coleman will get any minutes at the 4 next year. O'Byrant, Mickey, and Martin would go in there before him.

Assuming that JOB comes back. Is that as sure a thing as I think?

Last month, I would have agreed, but I'm not sure because of how well he's been playing lately. I think he should still stay and develop, but it's hard to tell yourself no to something you've been dreaming of your whole life.

I don't think mickey comes in better than coleman right away.

Man, these guys coming in are still freshman ... People seem to be forgetting this.

Undersized 4 is his best position IMO, Coleman doesn't seem as comfortable with the ball as Martin (in the little I've seen). Like I said, it shouldn't matter too much with the versatility we have on the roster next year, Martin could play the 3 on offense while defending the other teams 4. A small lineup with Coleman at the 4 and Martin at the 5 could be lethal for small stretches, especially when we press on defense.

I don't even think Martin is an undersized 4 at the college level. He's like 6'8" and can extend the defense. Regardless, he can play 3 or 4 and it really doesn't matter. Just depends on who else is on the court as to where he plays.

As to George, being a freshman in basketball isn't like being a freshman in football. Taz, Big Baby, and Bass all averaged in double figures their freshman year and Martin is better than all of them. Mickey may be as well based on the new video they released of him.

The rankings in basketball are grounded on AAU performances, national camps, etc. They are largely a pretty accurate depiction of who the top players are.

Well I know but this isn't a UK class with nothing but top 5s. We'll be very good next year ... But it needs to be tempered some. We're not winning the conference.

Was saying undersized 4 is Coleman's best position based on this year, Martin definitely has good size.

Martin is the 10th ranked player in the country, I think he'll be able to handle the jump.

Yeah I agree. Coleman is just extremely undersized for 4.

Mickey gives me a lot of hope with that last video posted of him. I knew he was good but damn, his highlights are pretty ridiculous.

Yeah... Coleman gets all his minutes at the 3 next year. He only plays the 4 this year because we have no one else who can other than Jalen Courtney right now and JOB III when Del Piero is in, which sometimes is just for a few minutes.

Coleman is a 3 and will only play there next year, he will get WAY better looks from the 3.
