He didn’t impress me at all this year. He’s a great kid but he still has a lot of baby in him and doesn’t have that mean nasty streak you need a to be a good D lineman in college

Can you really be sure anyone is "on board" before he actually signs?

Yet his specialty group is perhaps the weakest on the team and hes been here just a year shy of complete roster turnover.

Im an O guy and i trust him to do what is right but hes not perfect and his recruiting/evaluating of DL during his tenure here has been meh at best.

Burch come on down

If Burch decides to join LSU, we need to process Ali Gaye. Not this guy.
He is leaving for Guillory probably (or to open up room for Zach?)

We've got to make room for a RB, OL, and OLB, or DE
He might be getting processed?

I agree with lsufanva on this one but am willing to wait and see.

It is a numbers and depth concern that I have and I think that is the point that lsufanva is trying to make.

Coach O has stated that we need more dl talent and numbers.

Lets say we sign Guillory and Burch but have already lost Berry; Jenkins; and now possibly Lee and Taylor.

Yes. The talent level has gone up but you did not get the DL numbers that you wanted.

You loose 3 or maybe even 4 and add 2. Better talent I would agree but a need loss for numbers/depth.

Great season and a great time to be a Tiger but it is ok to gave different thoughts on a situation. Hopefully Coach O and the staff get this one right.

They did botch the db class just recently. Zero dbs are left from that class and it shows on the field. I don't blame the staff for the Surtain part of that situation but the decision that Coach O made to only sign 1 safety (joseph) and one cb (surtain) only 2 dbs total when you play a lot of nickle and dime was an odd decision at best. M. Goodrich wanted in and Coach O told him No. That was a mistake. We all make mistakes so it is not the end of the world but calling out good fans because they express a valid concern is weak.

Geaux Coach O and Geaux Tiger's.

Using a purely hypothetical example.

We need some guys who can come in a contribute next year. Sometimes, that means losing some guys who would sit in year one but become great players 2-3 years from now.

Those guys signed during last year's cycle, not during the year he's referring to, but they hopefully make up for the ball being dropped the year prior

Edit: After reading your post again, I'm guessing you were talking about the "showing on the field" portion of his comment, not the class itself. I apologize
