I’d be interested in revisiting this in 3-4 years to see if all of the fricking cry babying people are doing now was warranted

Yep and he's also a low end 4 star. Some people are going off the deep end a bit about this. He's definitely someone that would usually be in an LSU recruiting class any other year, but let's not act like he's a sure thing, top player or something.
ETA:
Just to make a more general point, people like to go nuts over 4 stars, but there's lots of variation in that ranking. I know 24/7 is the benchmark now but just to use Rivals for an example, 5.8 rated 4 stars (which are the lower end) are a lot of guys that aren't difference makers generally when you look back at classes. (Yes, Devin White was a 5.8, but he's an outlier and doesn't change the trend.
