I think even if he went to class, the NCAA would have to let these kids transfer...these are extreme situations that demand grace..or the NCAA is a bunch of clueless insensitive jerks

Yeah there are ways that guys can be let out of scholarships by the university and/or NCAA.
They talked about it with Darren Myles last year at Tenn.
By the way he's probably kicking himself more than anyone.

You know we've continued to recruit him because he mentioned LSU immediately after the news broke. All of the other guys (Willis, Miller, etc.) all talked about the teams that had been in 2nd and 3rd for their signature.
That tells me we've been on Smith hard and Miles just may have been at Sticky Fingers.
All Miles has to do is say "Hey, I had a chance to go to Michigan but I stuck by the team, for better or worse, that's the kind of man I am."

Smith was recruited by Chavis and another assistant for the Vols in 2008. When the new staff came in, he was pretty much already committed, as he wants to stay close to home. In November, Smith visited Baton Rogue as a courtesy to Chavis, who had maintained contact w/ him for over 2 years now, but thought it was too far away.
My thoughts, if you are going to steal him, it will only be done quickly. If he decides to wait until they hire someone, he will still come to UT.

That's what I was thinking; even more than Wilson, Chavis has been recruiting some of these guys since they were freshmen probably.

He said he would consider UTk but wants to know who the coach is, however as I said he is not on campus, he did not go to clase and his recruitment is open and he like LSU.
Now I just hope Frank is on this kid ASAP.
