Lasteel,
wtf are you talking about? Two of those guys were committed here at one point and only 3 are probably guys that we will heavily recruit. Are we supposed to offer every marginal prospect instate? LSU needs to recruit elsewhere too. As has been said here numerous times, we have to be serious when we offer instate guys bc if we later decide to pull or make the offer conditional then that turns into a PR nightmare locally. Orgeron will handle this as well as it can be handled but to pretend out of state schools can't be more aggressive with marginal prospects is ignorant. There's a reason you're seeing us offer more of state guys early.

I agree. Some were committed here at one time. And I'm at the point I don't care what state our kids come from long as they are top shelf prospects. I do think everyone needs to chill out. LSU will solidify their coaching staff and there is a long time between now and NSD to mend some bridges in our backyard. I'm under the impression that the recruiting of these young men is evolving into something totally different than years past. It's becoming trendy to go to school out of state. It's not just a Louisiana problem it's a national trend. Our SEC West Crimson opponent only signed around 7 instate players from their own state. They pulled a ton of talent from the likes of Florida, Louisiana and other states. Hell they went to Hawaii and California for two 5 star offensive players that enrolled early. The state of Texas had a ton of their absolute best prospects sign out of state. LSU pulled some of their most prized prospects from other states. Unless a kid grew up a diehard Tiger fan then our coaches are going to have to really sell the program to keep them here. The world is now smaller my friends for obvious reasons and it's clearly obvious if everyone opens their eyes to what's going on in other states. Reel off some NC runs and a bunch of top 5 finishes and many of these kids will reconsider wanting to stay instate. It's a simplistic view but it's pretty much the truth.

Agree also. Don't personally know Coach O, but he doesn't strike me as someone who would care much for this approach to joining the staff. If someone would pull this kind of stuff, would you want them working for you? Sounds more like someone who expressed a desire for a job, and was told "no thanks".

I think your question is rhetorical.

We have to recruit from OOS where are we going to get the 5* RB we desperately need. La doesn't have one this year. Bama, Fsu, Ohio st, they don't just pull talent from their back yard. Hell Bama went to Ca to get it's RB. You have to get the best players period, wether they are in state or not.

Thank you for saying it
I mean what you expect him to do? Not sell his program? You think if Louisville can play football too now that Kansas doesn't want to match and exceed?
I'm an lsu fan but cmon I can see the appeal of rebuilding a program from nothing.

Tony Hull obviously has New Orleans recruits on lock, if LSU wanna lock down New Orleans, then he is the front runner for the job. I know for sure he would do way more than what julluke done for us. He is also getting recruits from other parts of the state to. Coach O has to take a hard look at the guy imo.

In my opinion this should disqualify hull from ever being considered at LSU and if the kids want to go lose ball games in Kansas with a staff that won't be there in a few years, then they'll we should waive goodbye as they leave.

Since this is my first post you will have to forgive me for asking this. My understanding of this is that all of these kids committed while on a visit to Kansas on Saturday, if true then all of them were already scheduled to visit. So how was this planned if they were already visiting?

Excellent question! No way in hell they could use technology to communicate prior to reaching Kansas. Conspiracy theories debunked.

Here's a brief bio on the man that LSU missed out on, Tony Hull;
LINK
I don't know how long KU will be fortunate enough to keep him on their staff. But a little background on what type of man he is;
He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology in 2004. Following graduation, Hull spent four years working in the engineering field, including three years at NASA. He gave up that job at NASA in 2007 to return as a coach and teacher at Warren Easton High School. His goal was to help local kids.
He did that for 8 or 9 years until David Beaty offered him a job at Kansas. Read the link above for more details.
