Maybe I should know him, but I've never heard of him as an LSU recruiter. Why do we have the special teams coordinator leading RSJ's recruitment? He went to UHouston, so is the thinking that somehow that is going to be enough? Is there another angle?

The guy is a lot more than the SC coordinator. He has practically become the the 2nd in command for the defense.

He is an awesome recruiter

Frank Wilson went to Nicholls, is that going to be enough to recruit Louisiana?

He is also from that area so you tend to use those guys as well. And Adam Henry is probably recruiting him just as hard, it's just useful to have two guys from Texas to help recruit someone like him

He's our main Texas recruiter right now. Look up the 2014 recruits right now, and see how many top Texas kids we are in on.

It took awhile but once he got his connections he started to recruit well. He has us in for some big recruits in Texas next year...

Having a ST coordinator that can recruit is a luxury not many schools can have...

Not sure if you are being sarcastic but most if not all special teams coaches are significant recruiters

Not many schools have dedicated ST coordinators like we do. Some HC's do it. Some position coaches do it. But we have a dedicated ST guy that also helps another position.

I love when posters come to this board acting like they know recruiting, when they really don't. If there is so many Top ST recruiters out there, name some.

Verlander is a horrible poster with no actual knowledge. He usually keeps his shitty posts on the MSB. Surprised he even posted on this board.

Pay him no mind.

This. Remember USC got in trouble a few years back when Carroll brought in a NFL guy as a consultant to attend practice and offer ST advice.

Miles has been way more involved in ST coaching and scheme since earlier in the season. He'll probably get Milesfired after NSD.
