His dad said he's taking 4 classes this summer in order to graduate in December.

It's one of the main reasons for the early commitment: get the distractions out the way in order to focus on books & 'ball.

Kid is going to be such a monster for LSU. He's a day 1 starter and will be up to the task as a freshman.

It's actually a very intuitive question...

I thought the new rule was that you could play in up to four games and still red shirt?

No. The Spring semester doesn't start until after the NC game and you have to be an enrolled student. There are probably more reasons, but that's one of them.

Great. So all CEO has to do is get the board of commissioners to change the academic calendar so school starts on January 1. That seems reasonable.

Starter in 1st year then gone in Year 3 - headed for top of Round One unless something unexpected happens
