Watching Jared Foster who plays for Barbe...Is he someone LSU is looking at? Very accurate passer but not real tall

I haven't heard of him, but I doubt LSU is in the picture. He probably wants to go to USC and learn under Lane Kiffen.

He is around 6'1"....and I have watched him last year (the little he played due to injury) and this year and I'm not sold. He has really nice size receivers and Barbe hasnt played anyone this season yet (until next week)

Foster has had back to back 300+ yard passing games. LSU needs to take a hard look.
The freshman WR Trey Quinn had another 200+ yard receiving game as well (first one was against Evangel). Been flying under the radar but is the leading receiver in the district. 14 years old.

Unless I'm mistaken, he was also one of the little league players from lake chuck that made it to Williamsport two years ago. I always thought that his teammate would have been the better athlete down the road. I think his name was Kennon Fontenot.

Where does fontenot go to high school?

It is the same young man. I saw him run a 22.76 200M (et) at a track meet in Iowa as an 8th grader. He moved up from the JV team to varsity due to injuries to the upperclassmen after the second or third game. Fontenot is the freshman QB and has taken some snaps for Foster on running plays. Both are pitchers/position players in baseball and could contribute to basketball if the were to participate.

At 15, Bolt ran a 22.04 in the 200M...you are telling me this guy ran 22.76 in the 8th grade?

Spoke to his Dad (Foster) about 2 weeks ago and he said his son wants to play both Baseball and Football and McNeese has offered a full ride.
LSU as a preferred walkon is not out of the question.......He does want to get out of Lake Charles.
A full ride will be hard to walk away from though.

Yes Philter, I was at that track meet. He did not run in the 100M but won the high jump and participated in the relays. I was told this morning that his grandfather is Bobby Keasler, the former McNeese head football coach. Must have a "good bloodline."
Barbe has the best 9th grade team, (comprising the nucleus of the SLC Little League champions) since the undefeated 1998 group when Justin Vincent was a freshman. I know that their 7th and 8th grade teams were undefeated and unchallanged. Fontenot and Quinn set up thier blockers with more patience than most seniors and are almost guaranteed big gains. There is a speedy Abshire kid that is a cornerback but will run the ball and some big twins named Jordan that play several positions and some overall good athletes. Conceptually they should be undefeated in 2013.

Wow, I thought that kid was at least a Jr, I was at that game and he had some wheels. Burned Evangel's DB's for 2 long TD's, outran em a good ways and they are not slow.

Fontenot goes to Barbe and is the freshman QB, and still dominates on that level. He has taken a few snaps for Foster lately in varsity, mostly to run. He will have a chance to win the varsity job next year. Him and Quinn together are one of the best 1-2 punches you will see. Both are also very good baseball players and may get a chance to contribute there as well. Fontenot looks as fast as he runs and throws, Quinn is very deceptive and runs effortlessly. Two different styles, both very effective.

Isn't Drew Brees only 6'1"? I mean, come on if that is the only knock on the guy, we should be looking at him hard with our current situation at QB

Foster has gotten better every game this year. As for trey quinn, his best sport has always been baseball, but has had the best year for a freshman in awhile. lsu should be recruiting him for both baseball and football. his dad was one of the coaches for that little league team that made the world series. Barbe will be very solid the next few years.
