Jay should possibly consider going international, similar to his peer Wade. Imagine the potential talent pool of 18-21 year olds from countries like Japan, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.
Alternatively, Kiffin could explore the athletic freaks in Rugby or Australian Rules Football in Australia, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom. By coaching up he could develop them into dynamic players.
I understand this may sound crazy, but I’m not saying that we recruit a large number of athletes from each country. I would just focus on selecting a select few individuals who would be studs. Crazy… maybe?

Anyone that's good enough to get a plane ticket as soon as they sign is getting way more than a pair of new cleats. Only like 2 guys in recent memory made it to the states right after signing. They universally start their pro career in a baseball academy in the Dominican Republic.
Thinking that LSU would somehow benefit by attempting to compete with the resources and relationships of professional orgs in Caribbean countries is one of the dumber things that keeps getting posted here regularly by people who see what's happening with basketball but have zero clue how things work in the international baseball universe.
ETA: Specifically citing Cuba, as the OP did, is even dumber. LSU isn't prepared to handle the human trafficking element of getting a player out of Cuba and eligible to be in the US at all. Nor should they be.

Why’s it a bad idea? Isn’t one of the Philadelphia Eagles current star offensive linemen someone who grew up playing rugby in Australia?

1) The resources aren't there for a college team to take a guy who has never played the sport and teach them everything. The timeline doesn't really work because you can't use your NIL resources on a guy that won't be able to play for 3 years. Not to mention the resources it would take to get staff out there, evaluate, and recruit these guys.
2) The NFL tries this and the hit rate is EXTREMELY low. I happy for the Philly player but he is a big outlier. Most Euros that have been brought in to play never make it off the practice squad. Want to go get Kickers and punters? Sure. But no college team is going to have any type of pipeline for consistent players that contribute.
