Williams was a WR from the 2011 class. Many experts said he was the best WR in the state last year..better than Jarvis, Odell, and sylve

Lewis-wr take
Diarse-could play either but most see cb take
Gage-athlete no take at this point
Skinner-te no take
Dobard-te take
Smith-te take
Jefferson-ath take

Jefferson can play wr or cb and is definitely a take.Has an offer
Lewis could probably play cb as well and clearly looks like a guy the staff will take
Diarse could play both as well but his size is perfect for cb
Gage is a guy that lacks size but is a good athlete.Probably a camp guy
Skinner is pretty good but I think he'll definitely be a te but doesn't have the prototypical height. Also is in a year where 2 other tes are better than he is and I'm not sure we need 2 but will take the 2 better ones
Dobard is a te and to me is too good to pass on but do we really need 2?May be a backup plan
Smith is a te and already has an offer.I think he's better than both we have in this year's class.

Another wr to keep a close eye on is Shelby Christy. He has the height we need at wr and looks like a good one to me.We may not need to go oos if we land the ones we want instate

Agree on Smith. He is a playmaker in the passing game and not just a blocking TE. His stats are down this year because Barbe has a new sophomore QB (great athlete!) and they only throw around ten times a game. Has offers from LSU, A+M, and Tennessee.

You have to figure the LSU staff is gonna put the full court press on Ricky Seals Jones also. I think he will be the #1 WR on their board.

Lewis will be a better prospect than diarse imo. He reminds me of a more explosive Beckham.

If he is prep school, his eligibility clock has not yet started. It won't start unless he enrolls in a University of Jr. College. Should have 5 to play 4.

I also think we'll press RSJ but it's looking very much like he's going to be a Longhorn.Momma likes the 'Horns and they usually win.

lsufanva, thanks for your run down on these guys.

I basically agree that the definate takes are:

Lewis
Diarse
Dobbard (is it one b in his name are two?)
Smith
Jefferson

Even though Gage and Skinner would be impressive consolation prizes

And thanks for the info on Shelby Christy.I had noticed Geaux had him in the list of 2013 prospects and was wondering about him. Imma try to find some film on him.

I've seen Lewis play in person twice and IMO the kid is gonna be a stud. He runs great routes ,catches the ball with his hands instead of letting it get into his body, and is great after the catch. He runs so fluid after the catch and looks like he has a long stride with deceptive speed.

I hope LSU can manage to pull in all these prospects. maybe put Lewis and Diarse at WR, Smith and Dobbard at TE, and Jefferson at CB. Even though Jefferson could easily end of back ay WR, at least that way LSU cand can maybe pull a big fish from OOS like RSJ or anmll4

I only see a couple definite takes at WR in state next year. I think we should look out of state for the rest. We have plenty of the 6'0 speedy guys.

Here's another name for you - Shaan Washington out of Alexandria Senior High. He's 6-3, 200, and has a 40-inch vertical leap. Was putting up some big numbers earlier this season. Also, LSU hoops is looking at him, apparently. Here's a link:

That's what I'm talking about. Let's get a couple tall guys that can jump to go along with our quick shorter guys. I have no idea if the guy in the link you gave is good or not, but i think we need to look in the direct of someone like a Justin Hunter

We need to b all over soph. Trey Guinness from barbe. Had 335 yds receiving, 3 td's and also had 2 rushing td's against STM. Oh yeh. Guy is a stud baseball player as well.

Do you mean Trey Quinn, sophomore at Barbe?

LSU has not offered in football or baseball yet?

Just watched the highlights of the STM game on KPLCTV.com, not sure what more our coaches need to see for them to offer! One handed catch, ball skills, vertical threat. Some are worried he will be an MLB draft guy, but how will we know until we offer?

Agree we need a big target or 2 but with the priority the staff has made in regards to instate kids I find it hard to believe the staff will turn down Lewis,Diarse or Jefferson. They also will take Smith.Dobbard is a question because do we really need 2 tes in 2 straight classes.A couple of those wr prospects may play defense but we will take them if they come. We'll try some oos kids but we haven't really been having a lot of success signing them as of late.Should be interesting to watch. We'll be okay either way I think.I also believe that if the staff were that concerned with big wrs then we would see some of those taller dbs we have playing wr.Simon and Sam Gibson are 2 that definitely could've played wr.I'm happy where they are and think that while we need a couple of big wrs I don't think they're necessary.

I watch diarse play every Friday. At WR he is a vertical threat, has wonderful ball skills, and is elusive like you wouldn't believe. I love watching him play, I really hope LSU makes a strong move for him.
