My son is 2 years old, plays quarterback, running back, and D-line all at the same time, benches 225, runs 4.4 forty, and nails all the cheerleaders.

Keep encouraging him ... you never know what might happen. Just make sure he keeps having fun along the way. If he ever stops having fun playing, it's time to get out. Getting to the D1 level (or any college level for that matter) is not easy.

To answer your question, it would have been a dream come true for both my son and myself. My son played football for 11 years before graduating from high school last year. Ended up starting 3 years in high school at 4 different positions (Corner, Safety, and both OLB positions). Very good athlete with decent size (5'11", 180 lbs), but the best offer he had was DIII ball. Didn't help that he had a pretty serious knee dislocation in his Sophomore year and never fully recovered. Now he has his sights set on a coaching career ... still loves to be around the game.

Sounds like my dad, although he didn't follow LSU closely, just always was a fan.

I was born in Atlanta and raised in Lawrenceville and now attend UGA. Still a LSU fan all the way though. If I had a scholarship offer to LSU, I'd be gone. I'm just going to cheer for UGA when they're not playing the Tigers.

You have him on the right track, just keep it going.

My kids are growing up in the South Gwinnett school cluster, but i want to move to the Peachtree Ridge district. They play better ball up there.

My daughter is 7. We've lived all over the world and she already wants to be an LSU cheerleader.

Well I don't have a son, but I made my college decision recently. I would be honored to receive an LSU scholarship, but I doubt I would end up going there.

I think Stanford would be my #1 school if it were for both a sport and academics.
