If Ricks chooses Alabama, it’s not an indictment on LSU

It’s not an indictment on LSU’s resources or Brian Kelly or the staff or the NIL program.

It signals that Nick Saban is still Nick Saban, the greatest coach and recruiter the game has ever seen. If they really want a player, they get that player at a very high percentage. That’s what it is.

We beat their arse on the field this year and we will next year too. We have an excellent class and we aren’t done yet and something great is being built.

But Saban is fricking inevitable on the recruiting trail. He just is.

It's NIL. That's it. That's all this is.

Alabama's class is approaching A&M's class from last year. Imagine how much they've spent on their class.

If we can't beat them for just ONE guy, then yeah, it is an indictment on LSU.

It’s not an indictment on LSU. Alabama was getting these kids to flip before the NIL or the portal. Their bagmen have been doing work for years. NIL leveled the playing field and it has pissed Lord Saban off.

Saban has been the king of recruiting for 20+ years.

Yea, NIL is a big deal. But it’s Saban.

What did I miss? 3 hrs ago when I looked at this board, he was coming here. Where did the scoop from Bama come from. Where do I see that?

It’s the second time in 2 years that lsu refused to up the ante on a 5 star DB and let them walk to a division rival.

I don’t know if we simply don’t have the money or if Kelly has a hard cap in which he refuses to pay over to land a kid. Either way it’s concerning and points to us still being second fiddle to bama on the recruiting trail.

Hoping it’s not over yet.

Took 1 player that is a 3 * - a kicker.
Saban shows over a handful of national championship rings. Think that also makes a difference?

Because LSU can get it in the portal. Have you not seen the portal? Not only that more will be going to it too.

So, this is an attempt to spin it positively that Nick Saban can still waltz in and take whatever players he really wants from LSU?

Seems cuck-y

I wouldn’t call that an arse beating. We beat them. Full stop.

This is kind of my point- we’re always going to be behind them, in the star ratings at least, until Saban retires

That doesn’t mean we wont sign great classes and coach and develop better than them. Because we are and we will.

You’ve been posting this shite all over the board for the last hour like a dumbass. You act like we’ve thrown 100% of our budget at Ricks and Bama is still going to win out. It’s not 1 vs 25 like you keep implying - stop the melt.

It’s neither positive nor negative, it’s just reality.

You have to build from HS ranks. Kelly admitted as much. Bottom line is, we wanted Ricks very bad and put a big deal in place for him. Just like Jacoby last year. Losing out on those battles takes its toll. Hopefully they keep pushing.

I think the lesson to learn in all of this is quit recruiting guys with the last name (or first or middle) Ricks.

They have a shitty habit of frickery when it comes to LSU.
