UGA, Clemson, OsU and OU are out recruiting us on Oline.

LSU had more offensive linemen drafted in 2020 than Clemson has had in Dabo's 12 years there.

They've picked up a few good linemen lately, but their OL recruiting has been dogshit for a long time.

Truth but atleast the d-line recruiting has picked up these last few cycles. Cregg’s inability to reel in top prospects on the o-line has been a disappointment. Luckily this year it looks like that’s gonna change with a few in state guys. That would be a good but not great haul but it’s an improvement to say the less.

Do you honestly think they are not trying to recruit the same guys Bama is signing? Bama is a Machine and they are typically going to get whoever they want on OL and DL.

I agree it's big to have our OL returning, but the OL was at best average this past year. I hope they are much improved this year, but we need to have talented OL stockpiled so we don't have to hope our OL returns to have a good line the next year.

I agree the DL is in good position, but we need to add talented DL to that bunch every year. We can't have one great year landing DL and then take the next year off. We have to land 3 or 4 talented OL/DL every year to sustain the talent level that's needed to be successful and have any chance of winning or competing for NCs consistently.

I get your argument but it’s as though it’s one or the other and there’s no reason that LSU doesn’t have a solid o-line and QB and WR play.

That's fine but they have hardly any transfers and everyone comes back including juniors.

This year we finally stopped our trend but will it carry consistently?

I know one thing....if LSU keeps doing the same thing with the same people recruiting the OL, LSU will continue to get the same results. Something has to change, but many are happy with the ineptitude of Cregg. I'm not and neither will our OL play until we get a real coach and recruiter.
And don't even bother to run that nonsense about him coaching the best OL in the nation last year. That was pure nonsense.

"Let's discuss whether a coach is good or not, but don't use any of the criteria that I don't like."

Childish.

The skill was never the problem
It’s keeping up with bama in the trenches
That’s where bama is so much better

Skill matter, too. 2019 had a good line, but our skill players, mainly QB was better.

I agreed with this to a degree, but LSU’s offense skilled position players (Burrow, Chase, Hillarie, Jefferson etc.) were the primary reason in 2019.

Yup. You don’t need to have a dominant or great OL. They get the ball out so quickly now a days. Just don’t get blown off the ball

DL is fine but I agree on the OL recruiting. Getting constant 3* projects that are boom or bust is not going to keep it consistent here.

Are you clinically stupid or did you just decide to be stupid? The guy who posted that we sent more O lineman to the pros than mighty Clemson has sent in the last 12 years is correct. How do you account for that? Our O line is horrible and Cregg is horrible yet Cregg is one of the few coaches O kept after the purge. Is O stupid and horrible too? Maybe you are not stupid maybe you just can't read. Or you are stupid and can't read either.

Splain your rational for such a stupid post

Who was the recruiting coordinator under Les again? And how long are we going to blame the lack of lineman on a coach fired in 2015?

Alabama's Offensive Line class was impressive. Something like:

#1, #2, #8 OT
#3 G
#1 C

Even if I'm off, anything close to that is astounding. If we are able to compete with that, then our coaches should be commended! The Alabama machine is in overdrive, but it won't last forever.
