How will this impact our class? What impact will it have in future years?

It allows players to sign early without having the stressors like before and also allows them to decide earlier cause a lot of kids want to complete their recruiting process in the summer instead of in December or February.

The drama will still be there for the kids that wait until signing day, but it will benefit the kids who want to be done with recruiting early and focus on their senior year.

Kids should be allowed outs for things like coaching changes, sanctions, etc if they are going to be pressured to sign that early.

From YOUR link:

The NCAA's approval however is considered a recommendation and is not official until voted on in June. The Collegiate Commissioners Association must sign off on the change as well.

I'm almost sure it will be approved and I think it will make a small difference but nothing major. I like the idea and would sign the max early guys every year to get them started especially QBs if that's possible. There will still be lots of guys take it to the wire but the ones that want in now can get a jump on the rest of the class.

Egg-zactly!

This is far more beneficial to the coaches than the kids. It means they can get them started in processing and not worry about losing them while concentrating on the star kids playing the drama.

Teams will find out what kids are really committed and those who are not

Spots will fill up faster. If a kid really loves LSU, he'll feel the need to commit early to save his spot

Well it depends on the kid it could be beneficial to both. If the kid knows that's the spot for him then he can get in early get started with the hopes of it giving him the advantage to play more as a freshman or if he wants in but knows he's going to RS he can get a head start working out studying or learning his position. I agree it's probably more beneficial to the coaches but depending on the player it can benefit those guys as well.

If you don't know what you want well then you can just wait. I think it's great all around, it's not like it's a mandatory thing so what can it hurt. I like it and I don't think there's anyway it's not accepted. They are voting on many changes in recruiting some fairly significant changes. I like them all really.

Should end kids committing to a coach and lead to them committing to a school. Still will lead to kids being screwed over. If coach is fired, a kid should be able to back out of the LOI without penalty. Imagine committing to an offense that runs HUNH as a WR and the coach is fired then replaced by Les. Now 4-5 WRs on the field at all times just changed to 2...MAYBE 3.

Not really. Their senior year of football will be over.

It once was the First Saturday in December and most of LSU Recruits signed on that day. It was working good at the time. I understand they are not pressured to sign on December 20 but if they are ready then the schools will send the LOI to them to sign. If they want to wait they can wait. Could be interesting say that LSU has 25 ready to sign on December 20 and they sign all they want to sign and say Bama signs all of theirs on the 20th and on and on and some kids are going to be scrambling.

Oh yeah there would have to be an exception for these type of situations. I'm sure there will be.
