yeah going to the NFL must suck
Ditto. He got major national exposure b/c of USC. He was overhyped and overrated b/c of USC. (not to say he isnt great, because he is imo). He will be a millionare soon, Id say no it wasnt a failure.

i think he was overhyped and overrated coming out of high school. his speed was overblown, nowhere near bush. he did improve a lot this year thou, ran tougher between the tackles. should be a good third down back

He was a consensus top 5 player in the nation from our (relatively) tiny state. You do not do that here and expect to not be hated, or at least ostracized, period.

Agree. I didnt mean it as a bad thing. Any USC RB is going to get major pub, thats all I meant. I think it benefitted him from a career standpoint.

2007-09 records

LSU 29-11, 1 NC
USC 32-7

So, three more wins and four fewer losses over three years.

I wonder how many posters would still be negatigers if Carroll was coaching LSU? I will gladly keep the fewer wins and more losses in exchange for the championship.

This said it all.

How many football players could say that they won a N.C in college???

J.M can never show off his N.C ring to his sons, grandsons...etc...

He had his chance but blew it

Reggie Bush helped talk Joe McKnight into going to USC. I think it's hard for in State Blue Chippers to not be swayed by an out of state like USC when they have someone like Reggie Bush calling them. I wonder if McKnight had it all to do over again if he would have stayed closer to home.

I dislike USC as much as anyone, but this thread is pointless.

Louisiana doesn't have the luxury of having 10 prospects in the Top 50 every year like Southern California does.

I'm talking about MATT BARKLEY. The #1 player in the COUNTRY who grew up IN YOUR BACKYARD!

LA loses great players every year and we survive just fine (just like we did here). But this one was different. He was a douche about it, and he went to USC fresh off the rogue 2003 AP NC fiasco.

Joe could be a good CB and have career in the NFL, but as a RB?!

JTC may have "benefitted" more than Joe in him going to U$C. Looks at Bush's lack of success in the league to date. Well Joe is not as good or durable as Bush so good luck in the NFL.

i actually think that since mcknight didn't rely on pure speed, he stands a better chance in the NFL

AS LONG AS he fixes his fumbling issues

Don't worry. I'm sure his brother feels all the "love" from LSU fans.

This thread is absolutely insane.

It makes me happy I was not here for the JM USC commitment meltdown.

It is embarrassing when a USC fan comes on here and puts us to shame. And it is painful for me to admit that...but let it go. The guy was 18 years old when he made his pick. And that was 3 years ago. let it go, for the love of God. You are making LSU fans look bad.

Id take into consideration the fact that when Joe McKnight was in his senior year at John Curtis, both USC and LSU had great seasons. We cant pin no Natl Titles cuz anything can happen in college football. McKnight did get over 1,000 yds his final year
