Their ability to score points, and the QB's ability to extend plays/run is a little concerning.

When you miss a FG in MS they move the ball to the opponent’s 20 like a touchback… so as long as you’re good with a hit to your stats it often is better to simply try. Miss a ball from midfield and it’s the same as a punt in the endzone…which would be hard to do from there (long snaps are way more unpredictable).

That is dumb as frick.

There was clip on Twitter from this weekend from a HS team who set up a FG from their 30…kicked it and it rolled to the 3 or so and that’s where the other team got it. In MS if you kick it out of the endzone it’s on the 20. It’s a dumbass rule…but for kids who can kick a 75 yard kickoff you just abbreviate that motion and boot the piss out of it.

When you see it, it’s really strange. My boy tries to make this…but it’s really just kick it past that kid back there.

This is a ‘missed’ field goal, turned over to their opponent inside the 5. This doesn’t even make sense if you were trying to incentivize long field goals. I can’t come up with a reason this is a good rule.

NFHS considers it a scrimmage kick, like a punt is. Rule on downing it is the same.

Problem with doing it this way is you have mostly offensive linemen covering downfield.

A good punter will also have much better hang time than a good kicker.

Brek. He’s very very good. I’ve seen him compete with the best kids in the country and win. He’d be a great pick up for LSU. His dad played LSU baseball and his mom was an LSU cheerleader.

He missed a 39 yarder tonight but gets it to back of endzone. He was punting pretty well too.

I think we do need a NEW kicker. Not some RICO Suave that spends more time with his Dutch LSU tennis player gf, than practicing

ST kicking looked terrible tonight

I'm not going to dog on our kicker, but the reality is in this day and time, our kicker is a liability as he can't kick a 50 yarder when most teams have kickers that can kick 60 yarders.
