Yes, you could very well be right, and in my more optimistic moments I tend to believe that. I keep hoping that the deciding factors will be his relationship with Coach Raymond and his Louisiana ties, and not the championships that Saban is able to tout to him.

Even if our lead was soley based on those, it would still be a good lead.
Add on to that DBU, Raymond's technical coaching rep/abilities, and Pa & Son's intricate knowledge of exactly what they are looking for in a coach and that lead is "comfortable" by my guess.
We're talking about a father/son team who have very clear goals and how to get there. That PROBABLY outweighs any "well, I'll just have to beat you every year" and "come here and win a championship" sales pitches.
Hopefully we're comparing strenght of back 5's historically to Bama's. Despite Saban being "the DB coach", we have a lead/advantage there. The Tony Brown's buy into that line. A former ProBowl DB and son will have a more objective view of things.

Shea and Sonny thinking it is really close gives me pause. Since 5 for 5 when they start having concerns we tend to be in trouble. The info isnt concrete just optimism.

You make some very good points, and if I had to bet real money, I'd bet on LSU here, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very nervous about losing him. Wednesday morning can't get here fast enough for me.
