I don’t think that would be surprising. They’ve been a constant in the recruitment even when he was CB’d to Oklahoma. From a pro A&M town so we will see.

Texas coming in late trying to change things but A&M and Texas are going at it in state hard right now.

Elko is putting together a pretty good class, I will say

their hit rate in California is high for the 25 class, and they aren't just class fillers

People shitting on elko are going to look dumb. He is going to have them at least where jumbo had them record wise(8-4)

His staff is recruiting well and they filled a bunch of holes in the portal.

How so? Please elaborate on how A&M is in our stratosphere for baseball or football

We'll see if that holds. The USCw situation with Juju is interesting, and if that changes, they're going to go after Longstreet hard since he's a SoCal kid, which would be a big blow to 8&4.

I think most of us believe you. Also, this seems expected.

Thank you for passing the info along.

That's a couple weeks old. This stuff moves so fast and is so fluid so that's old news. It'd be great if Billy is right + we do, but even if we don't, there's still a bunch of good targets / flip candidates we have on the board.

Elko will have them really good on defense, but his tenure will depend on who he continues to hire as his OC. I’m a believer that successful programs that can sustain success in modern college and NFL have offensive backgrounds. Of course there’s exceptions to the rule (Saban, Kirby etc), but it’s just too hard to keep hitting on OC hires consistently in a game that is becoming more offensive.

Football, maybe. But they have the family ties and all the money. Texas A&M baseball is damn good as of late.

But I really think baseball isn’t a major factor here unless A&M is promising playing time. He isn’t good enough for Jay Johnson to force PT.

LSU losing a Texas kid to a Texas team isn’t new.

A&M just lost the baseball coach. Let’s see how good they are.

While I would not be surprised if he went to aggies, I think we are still leading for him. Listening to his interview with On3 it just sounds like LSU has done more than everyone else and has a detailed plan for him with both sports. Also have heard from someone on Texas side and they think he is an LSU lean.

The question is even after committing, will he ever show up to a College campus to play? Williams is a top 10 MLB draft pick so whoever gets him will be sweating it out until next summer when the MLB draft comes as he could go pro if the number is right

Uhhhh, he’s nowhere near a top 10 draft pick in baseball

Where are you getting this "top 10 MLB pick" thought from?

He's not on any of the top prospects lists for next year's draft... e.g. Kiley McDaniel, Perfect Game, etc.

I don't buy it. He will be good defensively like TAMU has been, but he will also struggle offensively once Weigman leaves. People talking, "look what he did at Duke", Cutcliffe did okay for a while too. The ACC is nowhere near as good as it used to be, however he left right before they were about to heat up.

He'll have some good defenses and will continue the tradtion of TAMU being mediocre on offense. They'll continue to be Texas 8&4
