• Meyer and Alabama head coach Nick Saban are among the expected visitors at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla., on Thursday. The pair will be checking on Class of 2010 ESPNU150 watch list offensive lineman Brent Benedict. Benedict has offers from the Gators and Tide, along with Georgia, Clemson, Texas, Arkansas, South Carolina and others. At least one college coach believes Benedict is the best offensive line prospect in Florida for the 2010 class.
• Saban also is expected in Duncan, S.C., later this week (possibly Thursday) to check on Class of 2010 ESPNU150 watch list back Marcus Lattimore of Byrnes. The Tide is a darkhorse for the 6-foot, 205-pounder.

He starts early.....

Nice little article from ESPN on Sam Montgomery, some of the remaining top prospects (Dre Kirkpatrick), and Saban's tactics for next year's recruits.

Saban recruits as hard as any coach in memory. Swear that man is three places at once. They much have Saban doubles.

When they interviewed her during the Cotton Bowl, I felt gipped. The way Michael Lewis described her in the book, I thought she's be much hotter.

Now the daughter...

JR's mother was impressed with Saban BIG TIME!
He looked mom in the eye and gave his word he would make sure JR left LSU a man.

Had alot to do with us getting him. JR had no love for LSU at all before signing. He liked FSU and his family were all lifelong Tenn fans.

Two things got JR. Saban being the first to recruit JR and LSU being closer to Mobile than any other college.
