This won't be a popular post but it's a worthwhile discussion. Elias Ricks himself has said many times that if Urban Meyer didn't leave OSU, he'd be a buckeye. It now appears that USC is going to aggressively pursue Meyer. I'm in the camp that USC won't get Meyer, but it's possible. Do you guys think Ricks would flip? He's from California.

I think it's probable that Ricks would flip if Meyer is the USC coach. But let's cross that bridge when we get there.

Still a lot of variables.

I would have to say he would think about it, of course if Urban is considering the job, he's already been in contact with The ricks family im sure, But USC is not a great team at the moment and it would take more than 3 years to turn em around, hopefully Ricks would keep that in mind!! recruiting is a never ending battle these days
we win some, and we lose some, if the staff gets a whiff of something fishy, they will figure out a back up plan I hope..

No, Ricks is signing on the 16th the earliest urban would be hired is Early December and Ricks is already passing on an OV to USC he wouldn’t flip off of about 2 weeks of recruiting

This comment makes no sense. The 16th is in the middle of the month. You said that the earliest Meyer would be hired is early December. I hope none of this happens because I think Ricks would be a great addition to DBU

I think it would give us a slight concern for both Ricks and Burton - maybe not so much with Jermaine but could give him something to think about. Think we'll be fine for this class. Next year however would throw a wrinkle into things.

Okay, so why would I go sign with USC again because last I checked, LSU is the hottest team in the country! I'm just saying...

There have been several stories out West that USC's administrators have done their homework on UM and, finding a lot of dirt previously unreported about his time at Fla., have written him off as damaged goods. FWIW, Finebaum has mentioned finding similar dirt on his last trip there over the summer and now openly calls him a liar.

I agree with that sentiment but that doesn't matter, because it's Ricks we are talking about. If Urban is his guy, then he might really wanna play for him.

I’d be more worried about Ohio State.

I think Coach O and the staff have proved themselves and I'm sure Elias is content with that.

His family moved to BR and his brother is enrolled at Dunham. I'm sure when they chose to do so it was made clear that LSU is his final choice.

We weren't the #1 team in the country when he said that. We are now.

Ricks is has to see the inability for the freshman this year to step up for Vincent, despite poor play, and see that Fulton is leaving.

He's in prime position to fight for a starting role opposite Stingley.

Ohio State is/would be more than a player than USC was my point. Wasn’t suggesting he was flipping.

I’d agree with this especially since he’s not even taking an OV to USC anymore
