We are getting a left handed pitcher I hear.
It’s not only critical that they be great players who are clutch but that they are team players.
Many people believe the issue that keep 23-24 from Omaha was too many me players and not enough team players.

Yeah, I feel the most sympathy for baseball coaches for one obvious reason. You can sign the best class in the history of college baseball and if a bunch of them are high draft picks and opt for the quick money, your class has been weakened even with amazing recruiting. Of course, it is necessary to get experienced players to some extent regardless but maybe he should visit Madam Vera the fortune teller to find out which of the SUPPOSED stud HS signees will never set foot again in Baton Rouge.
Also, I have noticed that the recruiting services miss badly on a lot of players. Last year for example, more LSU HS signees should have been lost if their national ratings had been correct but apparently the major league scouts didn't agree with "Top 50 HS player" or "Top 100 HS player" because they weren't drafted as high as predicted (even factoring the college players BTW).
Or maybe players like Schmidt, Evans, Arrambie and Curiel pulled their names from the draft to attend LSU.
No team was willing to meet Bear's number, so he returned, because he still had leverage.
Trying to make MLB draft results a barometer of anyone's Top whatever list when there are so many different variables involved is an exercise in futility.
Previous highly rated players like Anderson (pulled his name) and Larson and Brown stated they planned to attend LSU, but were still selected as later round flyers that did not pan out for the selecting team due to no funds available in their respective draft pools.
None of the above are examples of recruiting services missing "badly".

But honestly can’t argue with him. In 3 years he’ll have had Skenes, Floyd, Taylor, Herring, Holman, Jump, Hurd, Anderson, Eyanson, and Shores all drafted in the top 6 rounds. 3 pitchers each year, with a minimum of $300k signing bonus.
That is fricking nuts. I wouldn’t have called us becoming a great defensive team and having a run of pitchers like that when we hired Jay. I thought he would do very well here, but I was expecting it to be all about offense.
Great coaches adjust and he certainly has.

One quick look at their roster would tell you that every single player on their roster was either a junior or senior. They build strictly through upperclassman in the portal
Based on one court ruling last year about eligibility, JUCO no longer counts against you, and that’s where a lot of their roster came from. Another ruling on a Nebraska CB this Feb says that D2 and D3 years no longer count against D1 eligibility. I would assume NAIA would be treated the same.
All that said- it is extremely unlikely that any of these players could make a reduced 35 man roster at LSU. They would have to be a real late bloomer for that to happen. Even then, they would probably be a seldom used PH like Beck. But hey- he left his mark on UT, didn’t he.

CPM had a run there for a while, Nola, Lange, Poche, Labas, Marceaux Henry, Peterson, Hess. Jaden Hill was very talented just kept getting hurt but still was a 2nd rounder.
We always had the top end talent but we werent as deep as we are now (but also the draft has completely changed to provide more competition to get kids on campus).

The Stanford pitcher has the be a priority. He is a top 3 round guy. Throws up to 99mph.

I would think winning the Natty for LSU and having the entire college baseball world fawn over the “POWERHOUSE” that is
Would be a pretty substantial recruiting weapon to a young HS or Portal player, maybe it’s just me.

Saw an article saying he roped out in triple digits and had a slider in the high eighties to low nineties sounds a little like shores imo

Many. And how many signees make it to campus that people say we have zero chance with? It's gonna be four or five, if Jay's history is any indicator.

Does anyone knows who is visiting this weekend?
