The rest of the thread hadnt happened yet when you made the comment, and the point you made was that players wouldnt leave because they were still ih playoffs

Sorry but it seems like you just dont know how this works

Which is fine. We are all ignorant until learned.

It is a little weird why you are fighting so hard now to act like you didnt realize your error, and how silly that comment was. Just move on and learn from it

Good info in this thread, thank you all for the responses. Now I feel better about their win, was hoping they would lose.

There used to be a 2nd spring window which looks like is eliminated starting in 2026.

I think since they are dealing with agents they will have a good idea which OM players will transfer.

Chambliss extra year is a wild card. NCAA’s decision could come too late for him to transfer.

Jan 20-24 for players playing in the championship game.

This is true. But if we’re expecting a decent amount of ole miss players then I would think this is a bit of a gamble perhaps passing on others while waiting for guys who never materialize?

I don’t know why the posters saying an OM loss would’ve been better are being downvoted. Logistically it’s absolutely better.

You are not reading the room correctly. Players and coaches alike want three things, money and success, and as much autonomy as possible in the process.

Minus 2 playoff wins and maybe a NC appearance or win, Lane Kiffin looked like an answer to all three. Today and with each potential playoff win, that scenario could definitely change.

OM will throw whatever he wants at him to stay

At the very least, we need to drive every price we can through the roof for the guys they are all-in on like this. They are losing a TON of offensive production to the draft and will have a lot of needs. The more money they have to spend to hold onto 2 or 3 top guys, the worse their overall offense will be next season.

Caden Lee could leave for the draft, and that would mean they lose all of their top WRs and TEs but Watkins. I would throw a big offer at him, Chambliss (if he doesn’t go pro), Simmons, and Lacy. And bid up any OL they are also looking at, as they have 2 to replace there.

My concern on it not being good is that the further OM makes it into he playoffs, the higher the chance that guys decide they've "completed" college football and decide to go to the NFL. Their stocks will be higher, especially if they make the NCG.

Chambliss and Caden Lee can, but Lacy and Watkins cannot. Lacy has another year and Watkins has two.

Many of their other top offensive players are seniors and don’t have the option to stay in college football.

If you had a chance to pick anywhere to play and you could either go to Ole Miss, who is going further than EVER before in college football for the 1st time ever without a head coach and good chance most of the team leaves and takes advantage of this opportunity and either go to NFL or transfer to another school because now they can go anywhere.

OR

You can play for a guy who built Ole Miss from scratch into this powerhouse but now has more opportunities, a bigger bank, better recruiting in state, more history, more national titles, more…

Ole Miss can win it all and it won’t change a thing

The portal window goes past the semifinals, if they lose on the 9th, those players have a week to enter the portal. So, it doesn’t affect Ole Miss players winning. Even if they get to the championship, those players in that game will have 5 days after the championship game to enter the portal, so, it doesn’t matter if they win the championship, those players can still enter the portal.
