Rumors around Covington have been going for a month or so about how he had already planned on decommitting and going to ULL with his G/F
Posted on 1/28/10 at 11:44 pm to TigerTatorTots
He's going to do it on signing day just to rub salt in the wound.

Oh so you meant USL not UL

this is only the 9th time this rumor has been floated.

Does this sound right: We tell him we might or might not have a scholarship. Now that it is closer to signing day we let him know there is not scholarship this year for him. Does that mean that we have some more recruites ready to fill that scholarship that the coaches feel will be a bigger catch? Fingers crossed.

In what wound? His? I doubt anyone on this board will cry about it...
Posted on 1/29/10 at 1:47 am to deuce985
id hate to lose him, he may play 3 positions..those dont come very often..However, if a better player comes along then i wont cry about it either...
Just incase he does..that would put us at 22..3 more to go

Hello Justin Parker

white kids who grew up in the reserve from fontainebleau were dicking this kid all year. please let him go to ULL.

Bates is waYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overrated!!!!!! I promise you!!!!
You just now figured that out. I can look at his picture and tell he's over-rated!

Houston Bates reminds me of Adam James

I want to keep Houston Bates, because LSU is in dire need of linebackers...especially in the middle. If we keep Bates, we keep him as a MLB prospect.
If we can get a verbal from Justin Parker, then losing Bates doesn't hurt as much. I'd still rather lose prospects at different spots other than DT, LB, and WR at this point in this year's class.

Bates was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 5A by the Louisiana Coaches Association.
