Be careful what you wish for. Hypothetically speaking, if Saban were to go to Texas, that would likely present an even worse scenario for us. We are having a good deal of success in Texas. Not only would it impact that, but don't think for a second that Bama wouldn't replace Saban with another quality coach.

None of this matters. We just need to freaking land Hootie Jones

whoever they get will not recruit La as hard as Saban has unless the staff includes frank wilson or ed orgeron.
he's not going to texas

how do you draw that conclusion from that statement?
is it just the fact that he is seeing Bama twice?

I hate to say it, but his actions indicate that he is more than a little bit interested in Alabama. History has shown that when Louisiana kids do this, they tend to side with Alabama - Kendall Beckwith notwithstanding. Rueben Randle really was last minute.
How Alabama has gotten Landon Collins and looks to be getting Hootie Jones is beyond me. I am pretty tired of them pulling 5 star safeties out of Louisiana, especially now that safety is one of the weakest parts of our defense and the SEC is a pass happy, spread league now.

so we should dismiss his actions of the past 3 months and read into a statement he made about going to an alabama game....makes sense because surely he isnt going to visit another school to make sure he is making the right decision

it's pretty obvious that he is interested in Bama, I don't think anyone will argue that
but to just concede that he is Bama because he is visiting a Bama game? Please.

Is he not attending the Texas A&M vs LSU game??

Where did that quote come from?

Red I am as optimistic as they come but you have to admit if he goes to Bama for the Tenn game, turns around and goes right back for the LSU game, and then announces a week later it looks pretty good for Bama. Now if he visits LSU between then or after the Bama game I would think we still in it. I guess we will just have to see. There has been a lot of talk that things have changed for Hootie drastically just in the last month or so.

It looks bad, but in my opinion, as a recruit, wouldn't you want to go to the bigger games? Both of those are rivalry games with good gameday atmospheres and probably more fun to watch. It can be looked at a few different ways IMO.

He's going to 2 Bama games in Tuscaloosa. With Sims, CamRob etc.
Yeah i am sure that is just coincidence.

Why not put off his decision until December and visit LSU for the A&M game?

Playing Devil's Advocate, how do you know he won't be going to the LSU/TAMU game as an LSU commit? If he announces now that he's going to that game (AFTER he plans to commit) then it would be clear where he was planning to commit.

Your right there is always a way to spin it positive for both sides and the way these recruits act now a days you never know. They go to great lengths to try and surprise everyone. That being said, if Hootie does not make it back to LSU before Nov 15th but makes it to Bama twice and then still commits to LSU, now that would be the best troll job ever!! He would definitely shock both Bama and LSU.
