Guys dont worry about Hootie. We need to address Monroe thing but Hootie not even the best player on his HS team dont believe me watch for yourself in St Champ game. Not even a game changer on his HS team let alone top 100 college talent.

would you mind listing these please...the ones we wanted

I don't remember the names of the different players from the schools, but TCU has 2 or 3 WM players. 1 would absolutely have been in the DT rotation at LSU. Ms. State has 2 N LA guys that are good enough to play for LSU. Of course, LSU didn't want any of the La. players that are at Alabama until now.
Again, this shouldn't be S LA vs N LA. It should be about LSU doing more work here, and not taking everything for granted. 2 coaches have been named throughout this thread that are not selling recruits on LSU.
This isn't high school football, where a some coaching makes the difference. The teams with the best recruits/players will win 95% of the games.

Respectfully disagree! Other than LF, Hootie is a huge need. He has game changing skills that we've missed in the secondary the last 2 seasons. IMO, he's a much bigger loss than CRob - though I'm probably in the minority on that subject.

No offense, but you have a perception issue.
People in S. LA don't disllike those from N. LA. People who believe that want to believe that.

And we continue to struggle recruiting pure safety prospects. All these great DBs we keep recruiting but we've yet to land a big blue chip S since Reid? The hell? What is it about 5* Louisiana S and why can't we land them lately? We have a great DB class incoming but safety is a huge need. More than CB with Robinson/White probably starting the edge another 2 years...our safeties have been largely inconsistent all year. I don't like any of our current guys back there.
Also, another reason Stud needs to be fired. Seriously. He needs to go. Demoted offensive coordinator, demoted recruiter and several highly touted offensive lines turning mediocre. When a coach isn't highly sought by other programs...it usually means he's not a good coach.

You are probably correct. I'm just going by what I've read on the Recruiting board the last few months (including numerous posts in the very thread) and quite a bit on the OT.

No, and it's not just Bama. TCU, Mississippi State, Arkansas, etc seem to be here recruiting more or at least as much as LSU now
Ok

Alabama coaches are here more than LSU now. They are the sexy team
I'll give you that but ain't nothing sexy about MSU, Arkie and TCU.
I'm just glad they lost and we don't have to watch them in another NC game.

I'm fortunate enough to own a business with only 9 employees. I'm using myself as a comparison to the coaching staff only. I can "hide" my lesser (i.e. least valuable) employee. He's older, slower, and contributes the least to my company. He's an all around good man. He is my coach Stud, I guess. Knows a lot about his job, but is maybe the least valuable to the LSU organization. If he can't at least hold down his recruitment area (along with the TE's coach), changes must be made to keep from falling further behind.
Again, the recruiting issue of N La didn't start happening this year. It's been a problem for a while now. I'm going to trust the CEO to put all feelings aside, and do what's best for the company.

You're right. They aren't sexy, but they are COMPETITION! Everyone here was a teenager at one time and remembers wanting to go their own way. Opposite of the parents and friends; it's human nature. That's what I imagine some of these kids are doing. I'd much prefer that these kids stay in state at ULM or LaTech, but again, the idea of leaving the state and making their own way is big to a teenager.

Absolutely!!!

I rushed home to see what his decision was.......
now I am bummed.
Oh well, it happens and was sort of expected. This class will be excellent without him.

We can't lose 5 star talent over and over to a division foe and expect it won't bite us. We certainly could have used LC this year.
Agreed.

Someone please name the last university that tried to lure Lester away from LSU.
The prosecution rests.
Case closed.

No, they were supposed to boo his decision- Bama (like LC's mom).

Lawrence should have talked to Joe McKnight before leaving his HOME state. Joe left for USC and missed a Nat'l Championship at LSU.

stud has been so bad during his tenure we've had to rely on GAs or outsiders to help him do his job.
Why is he still employed?
The dude is comical looking physically. Not that good of a technical offensive line coach either.
Some coaches are just too buddy buddy and will not be released at the detriment of the entire program.
Tepper. Sanchez in baseball. Stud.
Personally, I'd like to see Kevin Mawae get a shot at coaching the OL. LSU grad and great NFL pedigree. Wouldn't be embarrassed to send him out recruting for LSU and would coach up the OL more effectively IMO.
