Just watched Johnson’s tape. Big kid ,great footwork. Hopefully gets stronger and a bit quicker . Can tell he’s a smart player should be a great prospect after Brennan gets out of here .

My little hometown next to Athens ga is becoming an LSU QB hotbed
We offer my daughters little private school QB vandergriff in the 10th grade and now OConee High kid. I live about a mile from OCHS.
We did well with Mett who played on the same field.

Oconee County home of LSU QBs.

With that said that’s a surprise because I have hear he is all Miami around town

Does anyone know why O would tweet “Hold that Tiger” right now without a public commitment? Seems a little weird, at least I’ve never seen him do that before.

Also I dont want to be the bad guy here, there is a lot of people who dont like Finley because he is inaccurate, but Max Johnson is 79 of 207 thats 38% of pass completion for 7 TD and 6 interceptions and 925 yards in 10 games while TJ is 158/333 47% with 23 TD for 5 int and 2700 yards in 10 games against a lower competition.

I will be the bad guy here f it. Why the hell are we recruiting pro style qbs that aren’t mobile? Finley and now Johnson but we have Peter Parrish on board. We aren’t recruiting to the supposed philosophy of RPO, QB runs etc etc. This is just fricking dumb. Didn’t like Finley and I don’t like Johnson not bc they aren’t good but bc they don’t fit what we are doing now at least Burrow can move pretty well. Unless we all of a sudden have recruited and developed and elite o line with an elite running game we ain’t gonna beat the benchmark in TTown anytime soon with this qb philosophy.

Of the top 10 teams likely listed tomorrow only Bama and Oklahoma have true DT QB’s. You can make the playoff with a Fromm or Haskins

look at Bamas roster. Tua, hurts and Jones. 3 different type of style QBs.

Going into his Junior year, Max ran a 4.8. No reason with another 1.5 years to mature and develop that he can't be a 4.7 guy coming into college. No, that isn't a guy that is going to house an RPO on a broken tackle, but that will move the chains much like we have now with Burrow.

Couldn’t agree more. Go double threat types only. Finding and developing elite pro style types is very hard. Mobility makes QBs more dangerous specially earlier in their careers.

Johnson can move pretty good and you don't have to have a DT QB to run RPO

The most important part of your statement is the fact that LSU needs an elite Oline to win this league, period.

Brennan is the QB after Burrow, he runs less than Johnson does.

By that time, Dare, Parker, and Wire will be more mature players. The pass protection will be better with Dare out there.
