A super-secret visit is never a good sign, and I am far, far from a chicken little who thinks LSU is going to lose every recruit and Nick Saban is going to annex the state of Louisiana for the Ghost of Bear Bryant.
It seems like no one on the board or the paysites knew about Herron's trip to Austin until yesterday. It seems like he was intentionally being very secretive about it, so anything he told Shea/Jimmy/Mike S, hell even the coaches is probably complete bullshite.

I agree that secret visits are never a good thing. But theres too many reasons for him to end up at lsu. Hes the most crucial recruit in this class so im gonna assume miles and staff wont lose him

Larry Porter doing work again as a recruiter?
You do have to question his motives by not telling anyone about a trip to Austin. I wonder if LSU knew.

The Porter/Memphis connection is interesting.
You have to wonder about that, considering the loyalty that you owuld presumably imagine exists between Porter and Les.
This is the kind of thing that would justifiably end a friendship between coaches, and the Willie Lyles issue still hasn't been resolved.

If Herron did flip les miles needs to find Mack Brown and kick his arse. Two times in two years pulling this secret recruit bs sucks.

No offense but gotta call BS on this one. And i really hope its bs for miles sake
Happened last year with Davis the last week before NSD. These late visits always make me nervous.

We pay our recruiters a lot of money too. Porter is a good recruiter but this just cant happen w our most crucial guy this close to signing day. Im gonna give miles, frank, brick, etc credit and assume this is bs

Maybe that's why Avery Peterson said bad news for LSU...

Im sure hes still lsu. He took the visit to see what ut was all about but i doubt hed commit today even if he was having second thoughts

Maybe such a big deal being made about Nkemdeche coming here for a visit and the hype around it really did piss Herron off so he reached to someone he knows well a Texas. Texas can make a pretty decent sale when a recruit gets on campus when they start selling Austin and the Texas network so hard.

Herron does realize that teams play two ends right?

2 Ends play at all times. If he's leaving it ain't because of RK.

Not sure why that would piss him off. If anything, he should be wanting that to happen. If everyone on your dline is dominant, it can easily overhype a player and disguise glaring weaknesses for the draft. Draft stock would shoot right up if you have good players all over the line...

Worked out for Mingo and Montgomery pretty well. Spears and Hill benefitted from one another as well

Could be. You never know how an 18 year old will react to increased competition.

And we've got 2 getting picked in the 1st this year so it'd be hard to believe he would fall for some negative recruiting saying he'd get overshadowed.

UT having zero DTs commited to them is probably a big selling point
