Watching that link...wow...Teshadi Talton might break every record in the book playing in that league. That's not even going to be fair. Where was that 4.43 timed at for Moore? I ask because he looks closer to 4.6. I think Moore will be relegated to WR next year with Talton being the RB and return man. Here's Talton:

River Oaks plays in the MPSA which is about the lowest competition in the region. Stevan Ridley cleaned up in this league. I know Moore and have watched him play several times. He stands out in the MPSA, but those games are in slow motion.

That's what I'm saying. Talton will look like he runs a 4 flat against those guys.

Is Talton changing schools and playing in the MPSA?
If so, why?

When 40's were last timed, Vincent ran under 4.46 all 3 runs. You're comparing his stride to Talton's...Vincent's at least 4 inches taller...big difference.

Maybe...but remember, Stevan Ridley was in the old MPSA, as the other poster said.If Talton comes, sure hope he has a great year.As for the strength of the MAIS league, most of the schools are small and most of the teams are too. But, the MHSAA has allowed the two leagues to play the last several years...the MAIS has a winning record so far.

That Talton kid looks great. Maybe not great competition, but he still does great with contact with some serious speed. Nice back/return guy. Looks alot like Trindon with more wiggle.

Probably too old. I think one of the Tyson brothers will have to do the same.

That Moore dude doesn't run a 4.4, sorry. The R.O.'s coaches fat fingers are a bit slow. Talton will destroy that league. I will be extremely dissapointed if he doesn't rush for at least 2000 yards. If they make a run in the playoffs he's looking at 3000 easy.

Ridley played in that league and destroyed it. He played both ways and still averaged over 300 yds a game. He played several games with a broke ankle and still was rushing for over 300 a game. That's how shitty that league is.

The Talton kid plays great competition. He has a 5A State Championship ring to show for it. That punt return where he ran backwards 20 yds and then took it to the house was against Ouachita who was a 5A quaterfinalist.

The Moore kid is the one that's playing the weak competition. He's playing against 5'5" 120lb freshman DB's that run 5.2 forty's.

Fwiw I agree with General, although I think Moore is a fine athlete, the competition issue is correct as stated by General.

Everyone on here saw what DJ Banks did at St. Freds and they play more competitive teams than River Oaks. The Moore kid is a good athlete but I dont seem him being offered by any D1 schools. He is playing a bunch of junior high kids. If he has any desire to play D1 ball he needs to transfer to Ouachita, Neville, or West Monroe. Then you will be able to measure his talent.

St. Freds never would schedule RO. They talked shite and never backed it up. We were a running team my senior year and beat them at their own game, 7 on 7 twice. Not a huge deal, but being the only comparison between the two teams, how could you say that St. Freds is better with no other comparison?

For Vincent, I'm going to have to disagree with the time. I think he is more around 4.5's but I am positive he's faster than 4.6. Coach's times have been questionably fast and their not electronic. shite, every single HS coach out there cut's a few hundredths it seems like. Just as a reference, I got timed by the same coach on the same track as Vincent did and ran .3 seconds slower than when I ran a month later at a public school event.

Also, Ridley played with hairline fracture in the state game. The two best teams in the league were in south state. We hurt him and he didn't play the second half.

If you're going to compare MPSA(MAIS) to LHSAA or some other public school league, compare similarly sized schools. When I graduated RO, we had just become AA in MPSA. We had 300 students PreK-12th. Probably around 120 students 8th-12th grade. That's probably 70% of St. Freds and they were A in LHSAA. Even with the size difference, anyone who has watched both teams play several games would never say that either played more competitive teams. It seems to be pretty even on average. The good teams are good, and the small schools in the boondocks generally have shite teams.

Also, I'd like to see yall compare a school like Neville to a school like Jackson Academy or Jackson Prep. Both schools destroy the public schools on a regular basis in Mississippi.

St. Fred's can't schedule RO because they are in MAIS and would rather travel 3 hours to towns in Mississippi than to join the LHSAA. So maybe it's RO that is a little afrarid of what might happen if they join the public school league. I don't think he said St.Fred's was better. Just that they play better competition. Which I would have to agree with. And I would say that St. Fred's is better than RO. And you are saying cause you beat SF in 7-on-7 you would beat them in a real game. SF routinely beats Neville in 7-on-7...including last summer. Does that mean anything? NO. Not a great assumption. You played them the week that DJ Banks left for West Monroe. It was the worst team SF has had in the past 6 years.

When I was a sophomore, 4 years ago, the rule that lhsaa couldn't schedule mpsa schools hadn't been proposed. We tried to schedule them, they declined.

The reason that I talked about the 7 on 7 was because the were a passing team and ran a spread. We were a running team and ran ace. We beat them at their game, twice.

talton is too old to play for WM this year...he can transfer to River Oaks and play without a problem...RO had a good B-ball player from wossman do the same thing last year. RO also probably will get 2 more WM kids in the 2011-12 season for the same reason another RB and LB

I'm familiar with the LB but didn't know of a RB with a late birthday. Heard that the LHSAA might be considering moving their eligability date back
