Kids leaving ASAP. I agree, but not because the ship is sinking. Everyone is bailing because of the new rookie salary cap. It's best to get the first contract over ASAP.

Committing to his home state schools rival the day before their opener would be pretty low in my opinion.
Sounds like a gump move though. Wouldn't put it past Miles either though if he could do it to them. This is what you get when you have a rivalry.

He's doing it before his season starts. It's not about hurting/helping LSU/Bama.

He got Cam Sims a scholarship to Alabama and that is set.
FWIW, I think this a dumb reason to depend on. Sims could easily be processed out in a year if Robinson doesn't go there and they really only offered him to lure CRob there.

The kid is playing around way to much. If his heart was in it to play for his home state I think he would have committed already.Losing some of your state kids to other schools is always going to happen but losing your top kids really hurts. When is the last time LSU took the #1 kid for Alabama.

Kills me when folks say we'll be fine at OT position because we have a ton of good guards.....

Maybe he has been back and forth so much because he's making a decision that immediately affects the next 3-4 years of his life and potentially the REST of his life.
Whatever his decision, it's a personal one for him. It doesn't reflect on the state of either program. Taking it as a personal affront if he chooses Bama is stupid. It looks petty and childish.

but what is the driving distance between Monroe to Tuscaloosa compared to BR?
116 miles and over and hour more by car.
but i think the fact that it's two states over compared to being within the same state more of a psychological difference. I think the fact that the family is from La and there is some allegiance there, guess we will know for sure later today. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I agree with the OP. He is a great player and I would love for him to be at LSU but if we miss on him, we will just go get another talented kid to fill his spot. Its not like we will have to put some scrub in to play LT next year. I have a bad feeling about Dupre and Robinson and I don't even care. We are hauling in some major future championship caliber talent.

Of course

I disagree. Losing a kid you've been recruiting since the 8th grade who grew up a fan of your school pretty much sums it up. He's not going to Tuscaloosa for the scenery.

Sinor from AL.com called his crystal last night for CRob to go LSU. GO FIGURE!!

Dworzewfgfgwejfbgwef was a career guard and stepped in at LT last year and dominated Clowney with some scheme help. LSU's oline will not suck for the next 3 years if we don't get CR. Calm down people.

I guess if he commits to Bama on Friday we should just shut down the program then.
I know that's not what you mean, but it is what is inferred by the comment. I want him to come to LSU as much as anyone else, but if he chooses someplace else it is what it is. LSU will still be a national power and will still go toe to toe with the red menace. They'll just have to do it without him.

I completely agree but my point was the difference between the two programs is exactly why he is going there. His choice does reflect directly on Bama and LSU.
LSU had his mom on their side, been recruiting much longer, and the kid admitted he grew up cheering for LSU. This isn't a case of someone who's always had their mind on leaving the state. Before his first visit to Tuscaloosa, Robinson was considered a lock. This board rejoiced when he transferred to WM because most thought that locked him up for LSU.

Everyone is behind Bama right now...no worries, it doesn't last forever.
